Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

One of Mike Ehrmantraut's most memorable quotes: “I’ve known good criminals and bad cops. Bad priests, honorable thieves… You can be on one side of the law or the other. But if you make a deal with somebody, you keep your word. You can go home today with your money and never do this again. But you took something that wasn’t yours. And you sold it for a profit. And to think that this character was created by accident. The behind-the-scenes story goes that Saul was originally supposed to be the Cleaner when Jane died in BB. But Odenkirk was unavailable due to a scheduling conflict. So Vince Gilligan and the writers created Mike out of simple necessity. And getting Jonathan Banks to play the character was pure genius.

I always liked the intricate detail to his behaviour and how we were shown it in minute and lengthy detail and it was never boring. Any other show would just tell you “Mike found a tracker in his car” but instead we watch him take his car apart piece by piece because he knows it’s there and it shows us how good he is at what he does and why he’s so good at what he does. It's not cocaine in the sneaker., but doesn't have to be. I think there's a scene before where he buys some pills from his vet buddy. All Mike is trying to do is set the sniffer dogs at the boarder off. The smell could be anything 'druggy'. So long as it's a drug like smell in a place where druggy smells shouldn't be, like on the metal step at the back of a truck. Once the dogs showed interest, the Boarder cops would investigate fuller and that's the mission objective.

@ParkEnder18.....some will disagree with you. I was watching a compilation of badass scenes of Beth Dutton (Yellowstone) last night - and many commenters were saying that HER parts were the best written in any show ever......how can you both be right ? While I agree that the stuff written for this show AND Yellowstone have both been very good - why do you think it is necessary to go out on a limb - and make yourself look foolish for no reason ? Why not just shut your mouth and enjoy the show ?
