Walts descent into madness is very attractive throughout the show, but when they're together, you begin to realize how Mike is oozing with virtue in contrast to Walt's moral corruption. The story is about walt, an innocent man that transforms into a powerful sociopath, a story about a man that breaks bad; but Mike's been bad for so long, he's actually more "good" than anyone else. A true tempered resolve and spirit, born of hardships which developed his conscience to deeper levels, instead of warping himself into depravity.

Well Mike only was in the game canonically for about 7 years. He joined Gus in ‘02 and worked with him throughout BCS, then died in what would canonically be ‘09, considering Walt spent the next few months running the game with Todd and then went into hiding for almost a year before dying himself in 2010. By that logic, Tyrus or Victor are better suited to their jobs than Mike is. They’d been with Gus years earlier than he had, and only died a few months before he did.

2:05 as somewhat satisfying as this moment is, it hurts looking back, knowing Heisenberg probably decided right then when he was staring at the ceiling trying to catch his breathe that one day, if he has even the tiniest excuse he’s gonna kill Mike himself.

Jonathan Banks is arguably the most underrated actor ever. Thanks to this great actor, Mike Ehrmantraut is one of the most iconic badass characters to ever grace the screen, big or small.
@danjames40862 жыл бұрын
Nearly every one of Mike's lines is iconic, because he says so little. The junkyard scene when they test the magnet is brilliant, just because Mike is so sceptical. His 'Miller time' line is hilarious.

Man it's wild seeing BB Mike juxtaposed against BCS Mike. He's far more ruthless and capricious in BB. Still definitely seems like he has remorse, but doesn't mull over murking people on the spot like he does in BCS.

6:57 only thing I don’t buy is a pro like Mike waiting until he is physically inside the woman’s house within earshot before attaching his suppressor and chambering a round, and the only reason that even stands out to me is because of how thorough the attention to detail was in this show. Anyone conceal carrying with that much experience has one chambered at all times.

It just occurred to me that Breaking Bad was about Walter White in BB, but Better Call Saul the breaking bad was about Mike. He went from being a cop and good guy to still a good guy with bad acts. He is by far the best character among WW.

I would love Mike to get his own spin off. Maybe when he was a cop or shortly after. With a bit of CGI or an alternate actor for some scenes to make him look younger. Would be awesome to see even more of his backstory.

Didn't truly appreciate it the first time but Mike showing he's annoyed by Walt trying to persuade him really shows it all but he still waits for the man to finish his sentence and asks if he's done before giving him the 4 fingers (& 1 thumb) that really was the most polite beatdown by Mike (Finger) Ehrmantraut

0:43 It's no wonder how Mike has survived this long in the game. Morals aside, he's kept his head down, did the work, and reaped the rewards. Kind of a shame about the feds and his money.

That has to be one of the best depictions of a silenced weapon in hollywood. People usually see that long ass can on the front of an automatic/self-loading weapon and think "Oh well it's gonna go "pew pew" itty bitty noise. The problem is (for those not familiar with firearms) guns are loud, even if you remove the noise from the bullet being fired. You're still gonna hear the loud cracking of the action, when an automatic pistol is fired the gas is still pushing back on the slide and bolt of the weapon, causing it to jerk back violently, kick the empty bullet casing free and load the new round then snap back forward as spring tension pushes the bolt and slide back forward with equal amounts of pressure. There is no way to silence that on a self-loading weapon beyond perhaps *VERY* exotic designs to reduce the noise of the slide/action.

I like that mike gave Walt a moment to elaborate on what he meant by having a moment by himself with Gus. You could see on Mike's face he was like "I didnt wanna do this...but.." and then in "Better Call Saul" we learn how much Gus respected him and vica-versa despite the occasional difference in opinion.
