Nina Hagen is a crazy lunatic in the most positive sense. The stage character cannot be distinguished from the private one. Ordinary citizens would be sent to an institution if they behaved like that. It is the German answer to Harley Quinn in real life. When it comes to vocals, hardly anyone can fool her. From the lowest notes to the highest, she has it all. Until the ears hurt. She is germans punk rock queen. And today over 65 years old.

Nina Hagen had one of the greatest voices of alt rock history, there are very few singers that can match her to this day. :) What a godsess.

Thanx for reacting to this international cooperation of the Finnish cello metal band Apocalyptica (founded in 1993) and the German Godmother of Punk con Nina Hagen. Apocalyptica started as a Metalica cover band but then started doing their own songs as well. The had a couple of cooperations with singers. Another one with a German female singer is the extremely rough „Path 2“ with Sandra Nasic from the Altenative / Nu Metal band „Guano Apes“. Nina Hagens vocal range is so extreme. Sh äw can get so high, that you‘re waiting for glas to burst.

Catharina "Nina" Hagen ( born 11 March 1955) is a German singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her theatrical vocals and rose to prominence during the punk and new wave movements in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Born in the former East Berlin, German Democratic Republic, Hagen began her career as an actress when she appeared in several German films alongside her mother Eva-Maria Hagen. Around that same time, she joined the band Automobil and released the single "Du hast den Farbfilm vergessen". After her stepfather Wolf Biermann's East German citizenship was withdrawn in 1976, Hagen followed him to Hamburg. Shortly afterwards, she was offered a record deal from CBS Records and formed the Nina Hagen Band. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1978 to critical acclaim and was a commercial success selling over 250,000 copies. The band released one more album, Unbehagen, before their break-up in 1979. She has also done some cover songs by Rammstein, Janis Joplin, David Bowie, Ian Drury. She has collaborated with Lene Lovich, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mark Almond, Oomph!, KMFDM, and others. I especially like "Fieber" (with Oomph!), "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick" (FFW), "Don't Kill the Animals" (with Lene Lovich for PETA), "Handgrenade", and "Russian Reggae". She has 2 children: a daughter named Cosma Shiva and a son named Otis.

Apocalyptica is a Finnish band, they are close to Nightwish in popularity selling millions of albums worldwide. They started their career as only with 4 cellist playing covers. Now there are 3 cellos and a drummer with sometimes a guest singer. They have released many albums doing cover songs and originals with featured singers. Their latest album released in 2020 is a full instrumental album without vocals and it's a great one.

I only recently got into reaction videos, but with this particular song I wonder how can all people just cheer and laugh after listening such a strong piece about death from loneliness and sadness. Me personally could never stop tears after hearing it, but people just like "AHAHAHAHA I JUST SEE CARTOON THIS MORNING IT WAS SO FUNNY AHAHAHAHA"

It’s in German, with no subtitles, and we don’t speak German. It baffles me how people expect us to know what the song is about, IN A LANGUAGE WE DON’T SPEAK, on first listen. It’s a shame you’re incapable of just enjoying good music when you hear it. We enjoyed this song, and expressed as much. - G

Nina - the godmother of German Punk music. Her voice range contains all 8 octaves, because she completed an education as an opera singer.

She used to be a very good singer , nowadays her voice changed very much, she used to be a soprano, but something went wrong and she lost that vocal range that used to make her a different voice 💔

Their album "Worlds Collide" from 2007 was a masterpiece full of collaborations and exceptional musical scores. I recommend the cover of David Bowie's "Heroes" in German as "Helden" from that album and the wild "Stroke". Till Lindemann from Rammstein is on vocals in "Helden".

Rammstein had another ballad called "Nebel", which means "fog" or "mist". But more important for this song, it is the word "Leben" = "life" spelled backwards. The song is a sad one. I haven't found a good live version, but you can find numerous videos regardless. - Here is a lyric video that has an English translation, if you want to give it a go: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJbXnHiLqr-ggNE

Well a legend. From East Germany, born 1955. She started 1974 with "Du hast den Farbfilm vergessen (You forgot the color film)." kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJa7eYp_f69jl5o They had a closely guarded border to prevent their people from fleeing to the west. Nina Hagen was not only allowed to leave the country, it was even suggested to her.
