The moment at 3:58 hits the viewer hard when the camera focuses on Eddie's face. You see the true sadness in his eyes and face for a moment before he snaps back into the moment. This is what makes this show one of the all-time greats. People rarely are ever what they appear to be.

@@rxlo1015 - Yes. And there’s always two sides to every story. Who knows how long the son pleaded for his father’s attention? But he was probably neglectful and took him for granted. You can’t expect the son to not to be scarred if his father refused to be there for him when he was 10. Starting when he’s 20 is too late. My father has always been a self-centered narcissist who was verbally abusive to me. He’s off on his third marriage now and has burned more bridges than I can count. I finally gave up and stopped contact when I was forty eight years old. It’s been six years since we’ve spoken and I’m not planning to go back to the apathy and toxicity. Of course, I’m the bad guy now for setting boundaries and demanding respect. But I’m ok with that, because it’s helped me heal from all the abuse I took for decades.

@@93Jubilee Boomers sucked then and they suck now. Note that all of these eldery corrupt politicians runing and ruining the USA right now are Boomers. This man, a war hero and an extremely successful businessman, is depicted as flawed simply because his snot of a Boomer son won't talk to him. Does anyone stop to think that his son may have run away from home, got addicted to heroin or joined some sort of extremist political group, as many snotty Boomers did in the early 1970s? For those of us in the next Generation, Gen X, this antics of the Boomers were a turn off.

My son doesn’t want anything to do with me after my divorce from his mother. I quit my job and tried to move closer to him but I couldn’t find a position that would hire and pay me enough to handle student loan debt and child support. I begged him for forgiveness when he turned his back on me, but not even his mother would talk to him. Even after she remarried and had a another child. Everyday is less bright than the day before. My therapist tells me to play the long game. I can honestly say that for four years I sent him a message, voice or text, every day without interruption. But he only replied twice before going silent.

Ya know, I just looked up a possibility that would make this even more depressing. If Eddie’s son, Greg, had children, then Eddie will have grandchildren who will never get to see. They might not even know that he even existed. In the end, outside of a few lawyers, Eddie will ultimately die old, alone, and unloved.
