One of the tastiest snare rev's I've heard in a long time. Not only is Mike pure beast behind his kit, that FOH engineer get's a +2 for the snare reverb! The predelay is perfection!

I appreciate the difficulty of this masterpiece even more now. Hearing the drums on their own for this track just blew my mind. So much detail. This reminds of his clinics. It's an exhibition, it has all the characteristics of his solos. Amazing

The time signature of 17 is 100% Mangini's idea. He used it in a lot of his solos.

I live with chronic pain. I still play some pretty hard music. I got lucky. My injuries came just a few inches shy of taking it all away from me. I don't know what your story is but keep it going long as ya can life is a time limited experience..NYC Is Ok With Me Either Way. I like them too. Tough As They Are. A lot of Fantastic Musicians. I played with a click on my church's TD-6 k8t for the first time ever tonight. The lead guitarist kept starting one of the songs we were rehearsing for Christmas Eve service. The worship leader blamed me at first for rushing the song, but when I turned the click on, it was immediately evident that it wasn't my fault. It was an interesting experience.

Awesome Mike! Really nice to hear the way you listen the cues! Hey, could you please explain why in the intro you have the full 17/16 (in /8) click counting (like 12345678and1) and in the middle of the song and at the end, is focused on the pulse of 17, 5+5+7? Is it just a matter of taste?

Non-drummer Q: Are the kicks mixed quietly in the video or is it a case of playing accurately and letting the mics do the extra hard work or have my ears been spoiled by super compressed recordings with samples layered over the top?
