That was the soundtrack of a 10 minute info broadcast right before the 8 o'clock news in Bulgaria for years during the socialism. The synthwave part is imprinted in the brains of all of the people who remember the times, most of them have forgotten where it's from and probably never even knew it's from a Mike Oldfield song.
@robicenco14 жыл бұрын
That's very interesting - my first reaction on hearing it (which is now - I've been an Oldfield fan for 20 years but only ever owned his albums) was that this sounds like it was written for a news/current affairs/technology tv programme of its era.

I remember an interview around the album Incantations. He mentioned disco music and the feeling of letting yourself go it can give. This was, obviously, his take on that. One have to remember that several major pop- and rock bands or artists were flirting around with disco, such as Elton John with Kiki Dee "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", Rolling Stones "Miss You" , -Rod Stewart "Do You Think I'm Sexy".

Yes,Onsease, they were ALL at it back then. It is not surprising when you consider what the Bee Gees managed to do in 1977, I.E. compleateyt re-inventing themselves and selling MOUNTAINS of records in the process.In my opinion most of the established acts who jumped on the Disco bandwagon made a VERY good job of it and thus Here Comes The Night" is, IMHA, a classic-complete with screeeeeeeching chimp on the VERY extended 12" mix.
