Because now days, people only pay attention to the repetitive upbeat melodies of top-40 music. No one actually listens to the lyrics of "radio music". That's why Top-40 does so well. Listen to any radio hit. It's all repetitive beats and catchy melodic hooks! In the official version of this song, the catchy synth-sounding chords grab you. It's a proven, tried and true method in popular music! I'm not hating on Mike Posner, though. Also one of the reason why shitty mumble rap does so well. Horrible ass lyrics, but catchy beat and hooks.

People often tell you that time will heal all the wounds. In reality, time won't heal. You just get used to it. You learn how to endure the pain. In the after life (whether it's real or not), I will tell my dad how awesome my life was. I'm gonna tell him that I live the best life that I could. I don't wanna tell how lame my life was. So that's the reason why I'm still walking.

The fact that this was released as a catchy, dance-y pop song just proves that the artists who get signed by these big labels r often hiding the real art….. when you listen to the words, the song should be sung like this.
@nelsondu2333 Жыл бұрын
It was released with that version, but the acoustic version we're hearing here is actually the first track on that album. So I don't think his real art was necessarily hidden, though I agree that big labels do pressure artists a lot to be radio-friendly.
