Because now days, people only pay attention to the repetitive upbeat melodies of top-40 music. No one actually listens to the lyrics of "radio music". That's why Top-40 does so well. Listen to any radio hit. It's all repetitive beats and catchy melodic hooks! In the official version of this song, the catchy synth-sounding chords grab you. It's a proven, tried and true method in popular music! I'm not hating on Mike Posner, though. Also one of the reason why shitty mumble rap does so well. Horrible ass lyrics, but catchy beat and hooks.

Ermin Klimenta shame i keep seeing people say this. My sister was at the University of Dayton, when mike rolled up in his van with a few friends, just before this song hit big, and in the tiny outdoor “amphitheater” in the middle of the ghetto (UD’s student neigborhood nickname) he perfeormed this song, along with cooler than me. By the time he was done, hundreds of kids from the daydrink were gathered around, and listening from porches, he cried and said he’d been doing a college tour at big unis, and no more than like 20 people had ever shown up, he thanked them and hung out for the rest of the daydrink. That coupled with the true meaning of the lyrics and just great song makes this an all time favorite

'Let's pop some happy pills...lots of happy pills...here and there' - Mike Ross
@mewgiah80572 ай бұрын
This song is a reminder that whatever you are going through, there is always the potential for things to get better. You could be in the deepest sorrows, and lowest lows. But as long as you are alive, there is a potential for a better future. I'm not saying life isn't hard, or that you can just "wish" the bad away. Because it's not that simple. Some people really do suffer horrible horrible lives. But as long as you live for that next sunrise, there is possibility. There is potential. When I was 16 I had my heartbroken by a girl that cheated on me. I thought I would get over it, but I ended up going 10 years without a gf. I don't know what happened to me, but I became paralyzed and just bad at romance. I wanted to end things, and wanted to give up. The lonliness was so painful. And I truly came to believe that I would be alone forever. I lost all hope. Then randomly one day, I met a girl online who lived on the other side of the world. Literally, just saw a post she made on social media and shouted her out. We then started talking in private messages, which then led to us video chatting every day. Eventually we became inseperable, literally spending 8 hours in video calls. I ended up marrying this woman, and we have now been happily married for 10 years this October. Never in a million years did I think I would be a husband for a decade. That i would find my soulmate -when I wasn't even looking for it. But that's just life sometimes. I'm glad I never gave up. I'm glad that even when I was at my lowest lows, I allowed myself to jump at an oppurtunity when it randomly landed on my doorstep. Again I know not everyone's life is the same. So I don't want to make it sound like an easy fix. But I really do think if possible, try to hold on for another day. Keep living life because it has potential. I suffered for 10 years and thought i would drown in it. Now i'm the happiest I've ever been for the last 10 years.
