I remember when Cooler than Me came out, it was back in the MySpace days where artists had their own MySpace pages and I messaged Mike Posner about the song to tell him how much he loved it and he replied with like a simple “thanks for the support!” Or something like that and it meant the world to me to have someone who had actual music produced replied to me like that. I remember when Mike Posner first came out with Don Cannon and DJ Benzi and I was a fan then. He did get real cocky there when blew up, understandably so being that he was just a young buck. I’m glad to see the dude he has grown to be, we’re about the same age and it kinda reminds me of myself and how much I’ve grown since then too. I’m proud of me and proud of you too Mike!

Dang, this is the second interview I’ve seen today (first one being Pauly Shore on Joe Rogan’s Podcast) where they talk about this awful feeling of slowly losing fame after winning for so long. And not because of an addiction making them spiral, but just because. They both continued to work and make art, but something just wasn’t aligned. Glad he was able to come back once the remix took off!

Growing up I loved metal music, so naturally I loved Warped Tour. They made a doc about the Warped Tour that Mike was on. It was straight after Cooler than Me came out. He was very different then, very big headed and a sliiiiiight superiority complex over the rock bands. So it’s incredible to see this humble, cool, collected guy. That’s character development.

Mike Posner was a big inspiration for me in highschool to make music. I would watch his cover videos so often on youtube that his covers were more appealing to me than the original songs. I got super into his lifestyle and even thought about going to Duke haha. I would listen to all his old music mixtapes and all. This video brought back a lot of memories for me hearing him talk about his start of music and then where it went to now. Mike will always be a legend to me.
