Good to see son & dad find a place to give life back into a house. Gives a new light how they work together as a team. Giving viewers more tips about giving thier place a new look. Not surprised that Mike couldn’t let it go.

That is a beautiful house! It may not be quiet with the business downstairs, but who knows. I love this area. My dear dad took me and my 2 siblings to the Thousand Islands, on the New York side, for a boat tour back in 1978. Great memories of Bolts Castle. Us 3 kids have a picture of each one in the 3 story windows. The story is sad, though, of the castle. I was 12 and will never forget that trip. Thanks for this episode!

I was surprised you stayed with the same footprint and layout. With a complete rebuild, you had a blank sheet. It is hard to let go, to not micro-manage, to let others take the ball and run with it. They didn’t let you down - a modest looking house looks simply amazing inside. Small wonder you decided to keep it! The only downside is you know where the goofs are! Again, I commend you for having the guts to admit your error, and to promptly correct it. It’s hard to “give up” on your first plan and start over.

I think it needs one small addition to the back of the house. As people live, play, and work there, how many people are going to drag (drip) water all over your wood floors? Add a rinse shower so people go into the house grime free.

15:46 As a Contrator, will have to disagree a little. Here’s why, even though With right AMOUNT OF MONEY to “solve and do what want”; DOES NOT MEAN “It SHOULD be done” b/c the house/building/space may not “want it, or allow it”…….. Really need to look at space/house/building as a whole and see if it works and DICTATES what is done, imo….AND DO NOT BE A “YES PERSON”. Ok 16:22 saying same thing night here, approved, lol 👍🏻

I disagree about Mike's description about good kitchen design being down to the mechanicals. To me the mechanicals are the connections that must work at optimum efficiencies irrespective where they are. Good kitchen design to me is down to functionality, and the best way to achieve optimum functionality is to ensure various tasks can be achieved within a short triangular pattern series of steps. So you'll have storage triangles, prep cycles, cook cycles and servery cycles.

I know it's well deserved....but the thought of Mike Sr retiring is a scary thing for Canadian homeowners.
Too much grass to mow in front, maybe astro-turf so I can go fishing instead.🎣

I see guys on YT all the time not seal houses from the weather. Literally waiting to put the roof on. I had to stop watching them. I only have time to watch people I can learn something from. And you guys have you ever heard of MOLD and that might be the least of your problem... To The Holmes Nice Job as usual... LOve the deck posts...

I got a bit disgusted when you let them talk you out of tile in the kitchen - wood in a kitchen is never anything but a pain in the behind. There's a reason all the old farmhouses had linoleum!
@delyn1319 күн бұрын
Im sorry but no garage for the cars tiny rooms no pool your not gonna sell a home without a pool garage for cars and bigger rooms
@rbud5719 күн бұрын
oh, please, who needs a pool? Especially in that part of the world, it's cold all year, haha!
@delyn1319 күн бұрын
@ everyone i lived in ny and had a pool it snowed there too
@urzaserra25619 күн бұрын
Theres no room for a pool and for the type of building this is and what its intended for a pool isnt wanted. The building looks to be a boat repair/service/rental place now. Instead of a pool a shed or storage building would be more appealing.
@delyn1319 күн бұрын
@ you obviously dont swim or have children that like to swim its a rental ffs and if its rented to people with children they would love a pool and it would bring in more value having a pool
@AnthonyLagunas-yv6br19 күн бұрын
Your lucky to get 3 months of the year with warm weather. Pool is a waste. Why do you think everyone has kids.
