Love this track ( I ordered the album after I first heard this tune )! The more I listen to it, the more I can hear how Mike has progressed in his compositions. There is more to his horn-like-phrasing, especially when he switches keys. Plus, he has become more laid back while in the pocket. Mike always use to push the time feel in his lines, but for here, he's inserting more blues like phrasing ( the Clapton and Albert King licks are never too far from his playing ). Overall, I really love this tune. Looking forward to the whole album. Plus, those Jim Beard piano chords are hard not to admire ( this sounds like something Beard would have composed, so I wouldn't be surprised if this tune is a collaboration between Beard and Stern ). And, happy that Mike is still at it, making new music and touring!

The bass intro was good Other than that doesn’t hold my interest It sounded fresh in the 80’s though Hey I don’t want to discourage anyone from listening to Mike , I liked him for a long time And yes he’ll have top notch players on the record

I like Stern, but this sounds the same as his last few records. He doesn't seem to evolve at all.

sounds pretty darn good to me. I have always liked his style, sound. IMO keep on doing what you do. Plus he has the clout to always surround himself with the best of the best band members.
