re: cubs/mets plate blocking play - i've said it before and i will continue to say it: close call sports is THE best channel to follow for a baseball fan. lindsay breaks down such plays and explain it from a rule application perspective so it's understandable. and there is zero "confusion" once you've seen their explanation.

Im sorry the blocking the plate rule is dumb, remove the buster posey rule. Remove cant break up a double play rule at second. Griffey was and still is an icon in baseball. I'm sorry Trout being compared is not even close. The kid/ Junior has several nicknames, his own logo by nike the Swingman, made wearing the backwards hat in baseball okay to do. Trout is very good yes without a doubt, but cant compare him to Griffey. MLB needs to change their logo to the Griffey Swingman logo

You speak the truth about the Posey rule and the rule about breaking a double play. The obstruction rule on the bases is stupid. We were taught to put our foot in front of the bag on a sliding runner or even drop a knee. It's supposed to be hard to advance a base. Trout may be the best player I've ever seen in person, but in recent years he has not put up the numbers. He's too big, and his body is breaking down. Time to re-evaluate how he trains.

Trout was leading in HR but BA .220 and OPS 830 isn’t exactly a sure MVP season, especially with his SO rate..and RISP rate.

Mike Trout is maybe the best player I have ever seen play live. Mike Trout has gotten too big, and his body is breaking down. How he got that big might come into question, whether it his training regimen or something else. I think he is at a point in his career where he needs to take a good look at how he trains and make adjustments.

Trout is a first ballot hall of famer if he retired today. Ken Griffey had a number of similarly injury plagues years in his early 30's like trout

Ken Griffey got hurt making crazy catches Mike Trout wouldn't attempt to try and catch. Trout gets hurt running the bases and swing. Big difference between the two.

Miss Alana I have to disagree that Trout drive is not money and he would play for free, same for Ken if Trout's main goal is to win how come he's never ask for a trade? Because even with him being healthy we all know they weren't going anywhere.

Get rid of the stupid Posey rule and blocking the plate. Adopt the college rule where there is no malicious contact above the waste. That's all. The umpires are become lawyers with all of Manfred's stupid obstruction rules, breaking up a double play, giving the player a lane to slide, etc. It's supposed to be hard to advance a base or score a run. See how bad the runner wants that base or to score a run.
