It may have looked that way...but Alex Stewart was a hell of a fighter..he gave Holyfield problems 2 times and he should have got the win against foreman when he dominated him...Mike was just so pin point accurate and vicious this night...proving just how good Mike was when he was on his game!..when he was focused and on his game he was virtually unbeatable only lost 1 time in his 1st 46 fights on an off night when he wasn't training in Tokyo

@@robertrichard3879 Exeactly yes !!! Mike only lost because he partied and neglected training. And yet he knocked down Buster Doglas with almost no strength left. Back then he had no conditioning, no speed, no maneuverability and no cardio

Mike Tyson very light on his feet at the start of the fight skipping. I think when Tyson lost his legs as his aged and didn't train he lost his skills. Being a shorter fighter mobility is so important as you need to close the distance.
@phillybreed
@phillybreed Жыл бұрын
Also he didn't have the same training staff that taught him his original technique. When Cus D'Amato passed and him firing the rest of the staff, he start relying on power punch instead of technic.
@2DarkHorizon
@2DarkHorizon Жыл бұрын
@@phillybreed Still I think he needed explosive legs. His old fights he moves so well on his feet. This isn't taking into account the skills he has or not. For example Mayweather in his prime is a master of using his legs. He would jump away from attackers. Thats why pacquiao couldn't beat him. Because pac liked to throw combinations but you need someone to be static for awhile. Mayweather would just use his legs and jump out of the way. Then force pac to fight a long range fight which suited Mayweather. Also as Tyson got older the would never do those spectacular jump forward and hook punches. You never see them land anymore and he was like this after he got out of jail at 23. So basically he was a very close range fighter at that point.

@markditmag6133 Yeah it was a crazy decision to get rid of Rooney, I think Don King saw him as an obstacle to him controlling Tyson. What does that mean? Frazier went toe to toe with Ali and even beat him in the first encounter going tow to tow in the others before coming up short.
