I don't understand Jeff's approach to ranking exercises. He admits that most, if not all, of his gains came from the big compounds and staple isolation exercises. He proceeds to give terrible ratings for exercises like pull ups which are simply S-tier. Where Jeff drops the ball hard is by not considering how different body sizes and weights can affect an exercise. If you are 90+ kilos, ring push ups are simply S-tier. Same goes for pull ups. I have NEVER seen a guy with a small back who was over 90kg and could rep 10+ pull ups. Jeff pulls a sly one by saying that pull ups are awkward to load. I have never had any issues loading a 20 plate on a belt so I don't understand the logic. The only slight inconvenience is that it's better to put the plate on the bench before you secure it. I said this in a different video and I will say it again. Jeff's manlet washing has to stop. His exercise advice is detrimental to people who are over 6 foot and rep a high body weight. Body weight exercises can be insane for bigger people if done correctly. Jeff simply can't fathom that you can get massive off of the basics because he's like 155cm and weighs 65 kilos.

Hey, this is related to the topic of the Incline Curl: You say that it just gives a stretch but that the resistance profile isn't lengthening bias; have you tried pelican cultures? Basically like an incline curl on rings, at the top of the movement you are upright (more or less) and at the bottom you are parallel to the floor, making it (more) lengthen biased in the same fashion of a T-bar row. I personally think that the skill gap and lesser stability are worth it, as the lift has other benefits that aren't just a better resistance profile.

My guess is the real reason he doesn’t like the incline is bc he can’t lift as much weight that way. He can’t ego lift when the starting position is the hardest of the movement; as oppose to standing where it’s easier to “sway” your way up

love the video! only comment is when you said “pump does t matter” it doesn’t mean causation of hypertrophy, but it can be a good indicator you are actually hitting your target muscle.

Your podcast appearance on Jonathan Warren's channel was really good by the way.

Mike Van Wyck's arguments are head-scratchingly silly. He'd be better served by keeping his mouth shut. The moment words come out of his mouth, he makes a fool of himself.

jeff nippard is 180lbs at 5'5 at around 15% bf. Most people struggle to be 180lbs 15%bf at even 5'10". Jeff really does have a lot of muscle for a natural.

I'm so happy i found you through this drama. My youtube fitness content is a mix of the "science based guys" and people like Alex Bromley and now you who give a little pushback. As a biochemical scientist with a bachelors in medicine i appreciate this. And i say little disagreement bc when you sit down, you agree on prob 95% on stuff. And the disagreement will come from the subjective part of training.

For what he is, Big Mike isn't really that big.

I'm natty now for like 6 years, Coach Greg made me quit roids, I train more consistently and I'm 10-12 kg lighter now, but I'm all good with it. These guys expecting us natty's to look better than Jeff haha that's just dumb. If Jeff was more ripped, he would look even bigger.

Mike Van Wyck represents everything in the world that I'm going to teach my young son (a 2 year old) not to do. Solving disputes with violence is never the answer. Mike's dad never taught him right values.

I’ve watched Mike’s videos in the past. I never found them valuable. He always starts his videos talking about how bodybuilding and training isn’t rocket science, then he proceeds to give the most confusing explanation of how to perform a lift ever. You said it yourself. Word salad.
@iseeuman31085 күн бұрын
Halfway in and it sounds like he's making reasons for why the lift is bad on the spot. Wouldn't suprise me if he jumped to the conclusion that the lift is bad for no reason other reason than his own bias, and we're just watching him come up with ideas to justify his belief.

Incline Curls were Steve Reeves' primary bicep movement. Mike would've hated him, too, since he was good looking and actually had hair.

I don't hate stupid people. I hate stupid people who act arrogant because they think they're smarter than everybody.

His old training videos were better, no bs rants or problematic behavior. His older videos honestly did help me connect on the intended muscle.

Which professional bodybuilders do you train? Are you a personal trainer?

I can see that Van Wyck is a hurt person. Something in him just emits very bad, negative energy. He needs to get professional help.
