Jeff has a nice physique sure but doesn’t mean he knows everything. Mike also was a pro and may not know every single thing. To knock Mike and say he doesn’t know about bodybuilding is rediculous. These science guys, most of them, do not have good physiques regardless of steroids or not. Look at Jeremy Ethier. He’s a skinny wimp. And bodybuilding is all science. It’s physics the study of movement. It’s not part scientific like these geeks claim. It’s all science. They use “ science based” for clicks. n

I don't understand Jeff's approach to ranking exercises. He admits that most, if not all, of his gains came from the big compounds and staple isolation exercises. He proceeds to give terrible ratings for exercises like pull ups which are simply S-tier. Where Jeff drops the ball hard is by not considering how different body sizes and weights can affect an exercise. If you are 90+ kilos, ring push ups are simply S-tier. Same goes for pull ups. I have NEVER seen a guy with a small back who was over 90kg and could rep 10+ pull ups. Jeff pulls a sly one by saying that pull ups are awkward to load. I have never had any issues loading a 20 plate on a belt so I don't understand the logic. The only slight inconvenience is that it's better to put the plate on the bench before you secure it. I said this in a different video and I will say it again. Jeff's manlet washing has to stop. His exercise advice is detrimental to people who are over 6 foot and rep a high body weight. Body weight exercises can be insane for bigger people if done correctly. Jeff simply can't fathom that you can get massive off of the basics because he's like 155cm and weighs 65 kilos.

24:07 I know I do agree that physiologically pump does not matter. However, I find it useful for joy from working out. It is great to feel targeted muscle, of course training hard and progressive overload still matter and are more important

Hey Mikey, there is a video on KZbin that explains that Arnold's favorite curl exercise is---wait for it--THE INCLINE DUMMBELL CURL!!!!! It is so ironic that Mikey mentions Arnold in his idiotic rant about the best way to curl. Cue the sad trombone: Bwa-waa-waaa.

Incline curls are my pure willpower exercise. The angle cuts off blood flow to my arms and is like occlusion training, piled on top of an already uncomfortable exercise (pinchingin my shoulders, the stretch, pushing to failure etc). By the end of each set my hands are numb and throbbing, but it's one of the only bicep exercises that i get DOMS from. I honestly feel like bigger biceps is just a bonus, the real gains are in self control and exercising willpower through tremendous discomfort. These and ab work. What exercises test your willpower?

Hey, this is related to the topic of the Incline Curl: You say that it just gives a stretch but that the resistance profile isn't lengthening bias; have you tried pelican cultures? Basically like an incline curl on rings, at the top of the movement you are upright (more or less) and at the bottom you are parallel to the floor, making it (more) lengthen biased in the same fashion of a T-bar row. I personally think that the skill gap and lesser stability are worth it, as the lift has other benefits that aren't just a better resistance profile.

He’s a clown. His entire being is that he’s a “big guy”. That’s his whole thing . Saying Jeff has no muscle is ridiculous. He intentionally does the lift wrong, and contradicts himself, as though he’s “too big” to use an incline bench.

"That's all very well in theory, but it won't do in practice." In this sophism you admit the premisses but deny the conclusion, in contradiction with a well-known rule of logic. The assertion is based upon an impossibility: what is right in theory must work in practice; and if it does not, there is a mistake in the theory; something has been overlooked and not allowed for; and, consequently, what is wrong in practice is wrong in theory too. - Schopenhauer

My guess is the real reason he doesn’t like the incline is bc he can’t lift as much weight that way. He can’t ego lift when the starting position is the hardest of the movement; as oppose to standing where it’s easier to “sway” your way up

I'm so happy i found you through this drama. My youtube fitness content is a mix of the "science based guys" and people like Alex Bromley and now you who give a little pushback. As a biochemical scientist with a bachelors in medicine i appreciate this. And i say little disagreement bc when you sit down, you agree on prob 95% on stuff. And the disagreement will come from the subjective part of training.

Halfway in and it sounds like he's making reasons for why the lift is bad on the spot. Wouldn't suprise me if he jumped to the conclusion that the lift is bad for no reason other reason than his own bias, and we're just watching him come up with ideas to justify his belief.
