I like the fact that you are teaching us how to better analyze and understand Scripture and the doctrine of Christ. Your messages are very helpful.

TJ When I saw you had a new presentation I'd hoped to see you on the video but its still nice to "see" the audio part of you. 😊

Haha you sound like my kids. They asked for me to turn on the camera…maybe next time.

So, what if I'm struggling with sin? Every follower of Christ I know struggles with something, maybe to varying degrees, but they still do. I have friends who have visions and prophecy who are nowhere near perfect, but are being perfected by the Spirit. I know I'm saved, because without Christ in my life, I wouldn't be making any progress at all. I'd be totally lost, without any hope, because that's who I was without Him. I know the Spirit is refining me and revealing truth to me and I'm applying it day to day.

Doctrine and Covenants section 93 also has more to say on how one presses forward until the Second Comforter makes Himself personally known to the individual. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this video TJ.

Did we really need to make a video over a pastor who is quickly going over questions and not doing an in depth bible study on each? The video made it sound like he was teaching some heresy. Just say you have some more commentary that was overlooked and call it a day.

He's teaching bad theology, yes. Students deserve to know when their teacher is failing them.

@@HaleStorm49 There would be more grace applied to make the point of "this is what the pastor probably meant to say", instead of acting as if the dude is doing it on purpose. One point could have been that it is a mistake to try and be too brief on topics which require much more depth.

Should you not have taken this up with pastor Mike 1 on 1 to be biblical then brought it here if nothi g was settled?

This isn't for him it's for people who think they are being taught correct doctrine when they hear him give his interpretation... But if I were to do as you suggest... How would you suggest I take it up with him?

It would be interesting to see *if* pastor Winger would respond to any inquiries other than actual videos that challenge his perspective. Has he ever been known to do this?

@@rconger24 I’ve heard through the GV that he prefers strictly monologue to dialogue because he performs very badly in two way conversations. I guess a debate went so poorly recently that he publicly announced that “God has not called him to debate”. It’s curious to me that people think he might be persuaded by a stranger contacting him any more than getting buried in a doctrinal discussion. I would personally attribute it to the Halo Effect.

He doesn't understand the difference in the three literal beings in the Godhead which really messes with his understanding the separate roles of those beings.

Correct - and if you don't understand God's nature - you cannot truly comprehend your own.

3 literal beings??? You mean persons? Christians serve ONE Triune God. One Being, 3 Persons
@JD-pr1et Жыл бұрын
@@abbycrown No. Three people. The "persons" thing that aren't literal beings came about at Nicea when "the One" of Plato became the concept of God (simple substance that cannot be divided, an essence of pure mind, without body, parts, or passions) for Christianity as opposed to the original 3 embodied beings. To that was added the non-scriptural homoousia (of the same substance) to create a Hellenist metaphysical paradigm of numerical oneness in the Godhead that did not exist in the Hebrew paradigm of 3 separate beings united in will, purpose, etc. (See John 17 where Christ notes that the 12 apostles were to have the exact same unity as the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, as were all those that believe on their words. The Hebrews did not have any metaphysics. No numerical singularity for any of those groups of beings, as the 12 and everyone else can't have a metaphysical numerical oneness because according to Plato, everything else is theoretically composed of regular substance (which can be divided) as opposed to "the One" which is theoretically composed of simple substance (which cannot be divided). Of course, the whole metaphysical introduction into Christianity of "the One" was reported by Socrates at Nicea of one of the churchmen "philosophying in a showy way how a triad could be a monad" and that led to the change in the original Church's concept of God.

@@abbycrown It's not "one being" with 3 persons. It's 3 persons with one divine essence. I think the divine essence doctrine comes from Greek philosophy.
