During our recent trip to Bali, we had the pleasure of visiting the laid-back town of Lovina. One of the highlights of our visit was seeing wild dolphins as they gracefully leaped in and out of the water in search of food. Because there is a bit of controversy surrounding the Lovina Dolphin Tour, we felt it was important to share our honest experience so you can make an informed decision for yourself.
We were fortunate enough to stay at the wonderful Lata Lama Villa, where we enjoyed cooking a delicious breakfast, taking a stroll along the rice fields, and having delicious meals with our friends. We highly recommend staying at Lata Lama Villa if you plan on visiting Lovina, and we won't hesitate to return the next time we're in North Bali.

You guys should go to Banda neira (Maluku Island) if you want to have more epic experience. In fact, a prominent Indonesian independence figure once quoted "Do not die before going to Banda neira" - Sutan Syahrir. In addition to its natural beauty, the island has a history as a place of political prisoners during the colonial Dutch Indies. The national figures who have lived on this island are Mohammad Hatta (The first vice president of Indonesia) Sutan Syahrir (the first Prime Minister of Indonesia) and Cipto mangunkusumo (A prominent Indonesian independence leader)

Hello. 😊 Most are offered at sunrise, but you can find many skippers throughout the town offering tours and I’m sure you can find someone to do a custom tour at whatever time you like.

I couldn’t agree with you more. We mean no disrespect to the people who rely on this activity for income, but we wouldn’t personally book a tour involving animal sight seeing. We know that people have varying, strong opinions on either side of this matter. We were invited to stay at this property along with our friends to showcase the home. We weren’t originally aware, but the host kindly provided this tour, as it’s the main thing to do in Lovina. The only thing we could do was insist that our skipper not chase the dolphins, and he was receptive and respectful. We appreciate your comment and your devotion to advocating for the animals. 🙏
