Sucks to have employees and not being sure if one of them broke in and robbed your stuff - also sucks to be an employee and have your boss thinking one of you broke in and robbed him
@noahatwell35236 күн бұрын
I was in this exact situation when I worked as a landscaper employee
@chrishayes5755Ай бұрын
The owner needs to setup security cameras with night vision, motion detection and SMS alerts so it will wake him up. Also setup an air siren that can activated remotely. Put air tags in all your vehicles and most expensive tools. Personally I would set up some bait they couldn't resist and then camp out close by for a few nights.

I feel a very valuable video would be a deep dive into how different businesses have structured their admin staff and delegated tasks to them.
@anncromarty2590Ай бұрын
I do admin for a 2M landscaping business. I work 55 hours a week. I also run materials in and out of jobs, can drive a truck and trailer, can chain a tractor on a trailer and deliver it to a jobsite, etc, I do payroll, pay vendors,bill customers, make bank deposits, manage all inspections, registrations, and schedule repairs and maintenance on a fleet of 11 trucks and 8 trailers, and a lot of other tasks. If a mower goes down I deliver a back up mower to the crew so they can keepnworking. If they forgot a piece of equipment I run it to the job site. If your admin can do more than computer work, it frees the boss up to do sales and estimates, and keeps the guys on the job site working, instead of driving materials around wasting time.
@orionpaillette1398Ай бұрын
I hope you are paid enough to do all this ? :/
@anncromarty2590Ай бұрын
@orionpaillette1398 I am. And I have a company car, all expenses paid, as an additional perk. I like that every day is different, and has new puzzles to solve. If I just sat in an office I'd be bored and falling asleep. I love my job.
@HaganHallАй бұрын
You sound like a huge asset to your team 👍💪
@anncromarty2590Ай бұрын
@HaganHall Thanks, I try. I am overhead, but I try to get some billable hours in every day....watering new installations, or hopping on a zero turn to finish a route, if a guy has to leave early, etc. As a 62 yr old woman, I can't work in the field all day anymore. But I help where I can. Owners just need to think beyond the admin as an office girl when they hire. Look for an old farm girl like me. Lol.

A truck and a tow chain can take almost anything if theres enough time. Short of a security guard, the best thing to do is get some RING stickup cameras to alert you and GPS trackers.

This guy could make a lot renting out space on his lot. There is tons of space and the extra activity would help with security. Also the revenue could up security as well. It seams a common theme in these is that hiring or buying is the way people think will solve all problems. Developing employees and motivating them is where effort should be spent and will produce more benefits.

Customers owe me about 25k per month but nothing ever past 30 days
@godw1ll9921 күн бұрын
yea it blows my mind how people go well over 30 days without collecting. all but my commercial accounts pay immediately. i dont even given them 2-4 weeks to pay, payment is due upon services rendered with penalties starting no later than 7 days after the invoice is created. letting customers rack up a bill over not just one, which is bad enough, but multiple servicing's is just asking for trouble.

Jills office can put data into your CRM. You just send out the estimate. It’s faster and worth it vs an admin.

Trailer says “Free Estimates.” I think charging for estimates is the quickest way to get rid of tire kickers. Doesn’t matter so much what the fee is. People who want a free quote wouldn’t pay $20.

You can take lessons and apply. Figure out your hourly rate. Efficiency budgeted hour subs actual hours. Admin when you are ready… Find a software best for you. I know Copilot can let you know if it can work for you. But I know service titan can work for you as well. Marketing you can look into door hangers as well. Social and digital ads It’s a lot in the channel you can apply

@brennik05Ай бұрын
I think he immediately went to check the trailer because that’s where everything was kept. I don’t think that’s suspicious. It’s like if your house is broken into and you have a safe. You go check the safe first. I’m going with the employee he was going to fire. But had to keep due to the break in.
