Caleb's lawn care business is struggling bringing in cash, though it is hard when you give customers the option for a refund. He raised his prices and everyone left! Customers are leaving, employees are quitting and things are going downhill fast. Mike heads to Florida to help the young entrepreneur turn around his business and decide which direction he wants to take it at the young age of 17.

Caleb really impressed me with his attitude. Especially how he dealt with that 262k loss, pushed through to keep his word to his customers and didn’t let the business completely die. I hope this kid sees success 👊👊

We believe in you Caleb. We know your heart is in the right place and we know you want to keep your word always. We also know that initially, you set out to be a good example for your peers, who had a less than stellar stigma attached to their work ethic. You have already proven yourself. You don't have anything else to prove to anyone. This time around ask God, not people, what you are capable of and seek to please Him and He will give you the desires of your heart. He created you and He loves you most. He will never let you down, leave you or forsake you. He will never lead you astray or disappoint you. You can trust Him. You are a very special young man, Caleb. We know that God has big plans for your life. Gpa and I believe you can do anything you put your mind to. You are a determined young man with strong character and integrity. Those are rare and unique qualities to have, especially in today's culture. You make us very proud Caleb. We are so excited to watch you grow into the entrepreneurial young man that God will help you become, in His time and His way. We love you Caleb. "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Phil. 4:13 ❤🙏

Caleb is killing it in many ways , getting these experiences at such an early age is huge. I know it’s been hard but there’s so much time to recover and recoup. There’s no way this guy won’t become successful Simply because he’s not afraid of hard work and most importantly asking for help and actually doing what what’s best for his business. Very smart guy and any customer should be happy with his services . Go get that money CALEB !!!

When you wear a big flashing sign on your back that says " you can easily take advantage of me " you're going to draw in the wrong type of people... But did he really even get taken advatage of? He literally told them they could ask for a refund for anything including the look of his hair... That was moronic and people used what he offered them. You cannot tell someone they can have a refund for any reason and then be uoset when they follow through and request a refund for any reason. no lawn mower/landscaper is going to do a perfect job every single time. You never refund for labor performed. If you cause damages or do a poor job you return and fix it for the customer. You do not give them a refund.

TOP Biz Lessons Caleb Appears To Have Learned 1) Preconceived notion ‘rules’ of hiring or whatever aspect of running a business MUST be based on real data from actual events - NOT because mom or whatever ‘authority’ figure u consult ‘thinks’ you should do it this way #2) ‘Putting your head down and working’ is only a good thing if you’re clear on the work u should be focused on - And cutting grass is NOT that work Caleb should be focused on. #3) Next time u think about offering the lower priced service think of this: Give me all the $ you have, I’ll return half of it along with a kick in the balls - and you’ll still be better off than being the low bidder GREAT SHOW MIKE !!!!!!!

Hey Caleb and Mike. I really enjoyed this video! I started landscaping back in 1983 when I was 9 years old working for my Dad. I dropped out of school and started working full time at 15. Im saying this because I know how hard it is to work hard at a young age and Im stilling working strong, Im going to be 50 years old this year. Anyways, I just want to say to Caleb. Live your life for you and do what makes you happy no matter what it is. As for business, dont be cheap be the example. Then you will make more money per hour and you wont need to work as much ,so you will have more time for you and your friends and family. We only live once so enjoy your time !

Very impressed by your efforts and drive Caleb. I had an early start in my working life also and now 25 yrs down the line on working for myself. Over the last x years you should now have a nice database to sell back into with offers outside of grass cutting that offer you a better roi on your labour costs. Putting the business aside would be great to see you living a more rich life in terms of a good women by your side, more laughs with friends and overall more happiness as money is not the root of happyness. I seriously recommend making a point of doing some travel to other country’s to see how others live and are hairy with little in the way if finances. So many gems behind having a sense of community’s that keeps the head and heart in a good place. I’m based in Australia would be keen to track your progress.

There is no money in regular lawn care. If you mowed 1,000 lawns times 60 bucks a year you have 60,000 pre-expenses and taxes. Hardscaping is where the big money is at. If you compete on lowest price there is always someone cheaper starting up. If you learn to become the best then you hold out for customers not buying on price but more on excellence and skill. They still look at price but number 3 or 4 on list not number 1. If you did 4 bigger jobs a year that each had 50k profit you make 200k. Caleb looks like a strong worker motivated just the energy and focus in wrong place for success. Doing volume requires lots of workers which creates instability with resources. If you are a volume business making 200k profit on 2 million gross and that 10% margin changes to 5% overnight due to unforseen costs you are almost going out of business. Hope it helps commercial real estate owner 20 years in business.

I think the hardest part of the job is knowing how to estimate a mowing job. It is easy to say I know how much I want to make per hour but to accurately calculate how long a job will take is hard. I wish there was a formula where I can be like this is the square foot of the property, there are this many trees, there is this much linear foot of edging, plug those numbers in, and out comes my price.

Landscaping is not necessary it's a commodity you give dirt cheap prices where you can't make any money mowing already doesn't make a ton of money this is wild listening to this offering refunds like wtf are you thinking. Need to get this company right before talking about different locations

Alex Hormozi actually gives some really solid advice so I’m not sure why that was a part of your statement. However, the haircut thing was ridiculous and it’s not at all surprising that people took advantage of it. He was young and naïve when he started, but he can definitely turn it around and be massively successful.

I won’t drop my trailer for less than $50. I do my own marketing. Make my own shirts. Business cards. I’ve never spent a penny on marketing. I’m getting probably 3-10 leads a day.

Raising prices removed me from the idea of lawn care too, the cesspits were the 2nd reason.
