Mike, I’ve started my lawncare/landscaping business in May at 15 and I’m bringing in $750-$800 a week. But I’m trying to save up for a truck for when I turn 16. However I’m wondering when should I upgrade my equipment/setup or keep saving for that truck. currently my 16 yr old brother works for me and we put 2 mowers a leaf blower, weed whacker, bags and a few Jerry’s cans and stuff in the back. I recently just bought a trailer to do mulch jobs and more services like fertilizing, I also have 2 21 inch mowers. However I’m looking at getting a 30 inch mower so I can go to some bigger lawns and make even more $ in less time. So just wondering what your thoughts were if I should keep saving for a truck or keep upgrading my equipment?

You’re going to need a truck to use a trailer and drive to jobs and expand out. You’re absolutely killing it at only 16… keep doing what you’re doing and take it one step at a time man!

I have been watching your videos since you started. I have invested in both your business course and web design. I went to a landscape event last year in Michigan and had an opportunity to meet you, and you were the only feature that had the message. I am thankful for your energy and insight and look forward to the summit this october. You are deserving of all the success you have created brother. See you soon!

Amazing video. Totally different than your regular youtube videos… so much knowledge and wisdom dropped in a short amount of time… no wonder your voice was shot! 😅👍

Thank you for the wisdom you're sharing. I'm in the trucking/paving and concrete industry. I'm super guilty of being the guy who doesn't want more leads but also not being properly compensated by the few customers I cater to. And constantly financially uncomfortable as a result.

even at a higher cost, i land 99.9 percent of customers i meet in person compared to about 40% virtually. so there is some value. on the other side a lot of customers prefer the over the phone instead especially post covid

Thanks so much for all you videos! One thing I still have a few questions about is the legal end of things…for example: incurrence, paying employees, and creating your official business name. Thanks again for all the videos you make for everyone!!!

It’s the most daunting part of owning a business. Scary to think about but once you start doing it, it’s very easy. You should call a local CPA to get that info

He's confusing the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement. Truck, trailer and equipment purchases are balance sheet and cash flow statement items -- not income statement items (profit-loss).

Disagree on the recession comment. People may go out of business, but a bunch more who are unemployed will come into the industry and offer low prices out of desperation. I firmly believe in having all different income types of clients. You can be the very best, but when people make cuts, most will start with luxury services.

Disagree with the planted presentations. A presenter who moves around the room is way more personable and exciting to watch.
