This song from its instrumental is really old, only the lyrics are modern days product. Instrumental dates back 1700’s and it was played in many movies and funerals before Lara made it popular with lyrics. Well said Ginger, Floors voice hits you like a hammer, but we love it!

I believe she made this as a birthday present for Hannes who was doing the camera work (the looks she was giving in that direction no doubt who was the audience for this) and as always give a shout out to the music by Tommy Johansson. A common issue raised is the vocals mixed too much in the background but this time I believe it is intentional as the music builds her vocals build with it to the climax of the song. Good reaction.

Glad someone else had that thought...there are definitely some very ...shall I say deviously sexy...looks given and how her interpretation of song/lyrics was more of an excited/anticipatory feel than pining or longing. Probably how they both feel when away from each other for long stretches on the road.

Originally it is a classic piece - Adagio by Tomaso Albinoni - In 1970 the Dutch symphonic rockband Ekseption scored a modest hit with this song, Lara Fabian made it into a beautiful song and Floor Puts some extra urgency into it.

Hi Mike, Ginger, Thank you! I just love Floor's performance here. Spine chilling all the way, goosebumps on goosebumps on goosebumps. I reckon, the way Floor masters a song and song lyrics interpretation, and projects this, that she actually would make an incrediblay great actress as well. The chin dimple is a lighting thing, BTW: light from the side highlights it :). It is hard to see with lighting from all directions, and or light from overhed just in front (like a concert). And yes, I am into photogrpahy as well, for 58 years now . Love you, warmest regards, Wim

Hi! Thanks for the review! Some happy news! As of two hours ago (would be about 5:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time) Floor has posted: "Busy recording videos for the KZbins -- 🎥 New year, more singing!" ... So Ginger's comments about the Covid-19 effects were right on! Some notes: I have watched virtually all the reactions to Floor's Adagio now, and the vocal coaches reactions and Commenters are about equally split between Floor's and Lara's versions (Lara certainly has her own "Army" -- ha ha). Here in Canada, we are happy to be able to support BOTH singers: don't forget Lara, born in Belgium, is a naturalized Canadian since 1995 (the Canadian Encyclopedia notes: "Fabian made her first trip to Quebec in 1991 and moved there permanently"). So on Lara: 1) she is getting lots of attention with people reacting to Floor's cover of her, and will get lots of NEW FANS who are fans of Floor and Nightwish, but were not previously aware of her; 2) the most requested song of Lara's by Commenters appears to be "Je Suis Malade"; and 3) RESPECTFULLY: I know you say in the review you have reacted to one of Lara's, but I did a word search of your posts and I couldn't find it: could you give us a source and we will check? Finally, on the Lara vs. Floor commentary, everyone don't forget that this is one of Lara's SIGNATURE songs, with which she often ends her live concerts, so Floor is very much on Lara's "turf" in doing it. To be completely FAIR to both singers in comparison, we would really want to see Lara cover one of FLOOR'S signature songs as well. But really the best would be to see them on stage together: can you imagine Floor performing with Lara, the same way that Floor combined with SIMONE of Epica in "Sancta Terra"?? I was equally haunted by "where have I heard this tune before?". I went through a few of Sarah Brightman's albums that I have and sure enough, Anytime, Anywhere is based on Albinoni's adagio as well. Loving all of these great works!

"Albinoni Adagio" (composed by Remo Giazotto) is a famous tune at funerals and some movies (usually instrumental). Lara Fabian's version (1999) is the most famous one with lyrics. Our Floor does some vocal athletics there. And it's great! ⛄👍

This performance is also live! it is in one shot..The songs will always sound better in the original interpretation, because it is where you first fall in love with the song, then everything else will sound different even if it is very good..Floor here uses a lot more techniques than Lara, let's say she made a Floor style version full of versatility and typical techniques of a musical Nerd haha
