Look like you've got the process of canning down now..... I've never heard of pepper jelly ..... Those caps are popping..... Well you may have just convinced me I could try it by saying it didn't have a lot of bite to the hotness.....😁 👍🏼

Mike, that was really good looking pepper jelly. I came from a family of "canners" and have watched my mother can and helped her can. This brings back a lot of memories to me. Thanks buddy.

Glad you enjoyed it Jerry. My mon didn't can and this was just the second thing I canned. This could become a habit. Thank you so much for the kind words my friend

Hey Mike, my mother used to make this all the time for me and Dad. She would use the green food coloring but, it was a big hit on Christmas morning breakfast. She would actually leave the seeds in. It had a little bite but, the cream cheese took that away. Thanks for sharing and bringing back memories.

I can't remember if I told you before, but someone gave us some pepper jelly at Christmas one year. Mom wouldn't eat it because it was pepper jelly and she's not into hot stuff really so I ate it. It was pretty good, I have to admit. I doubt it was as hot as what you just made though since you left all those seeds in there. I was told to eat it on crackers with cream cheese just like how you ate yours. I guess that's the tried and trusted method of consumption.
@mikecha19574 жыл бұрын
Hey Bill, yeah crackers and cream cheese works great. I tried it on beagles with cream cheese also. This is very tasty and not very hot at all. The cooking process and all that sugar take most of the heat away. Just some warmth in the throat. Thanks for watching my friend

Have never did jam this way, always cooked then canned let the magic happen as the lids snap. The only one I will try in hot water is a carrot cake jam, because she did it that way. My Gramma and Mom canned just from all what you did b4 the hot water. The only thing that I can think of in a hot water bath was canned moose meat we did. It does look so good. Stay safe & take care of you all. Thanks for sharing eh :))

If pectin is difficult to source, can I use Xanthan Gum instead?
