This is true virtuosity to me. Not the "look what I can do"-type of wizardry-virtuosity that is so easy for technically talented players to fall into, but the true meaning of the term. All the skill and technicality/skill is there, but all of it used to serve the music; to convey a musical and beautiful statement that moves me deeply every time I hear it. This is the top of guitar playing (or really just music as such) in my book.

Too many modern fingerstyle players always have their tricks in the foreground where Mike, like Michael Hedges as well as folks like Thomas Leeb, Vickie Genfan, Don Ross, and Calum Graham put the music always first and use their technique as the vehicle for musical expression!!
