I went through four or five sets of radio headphones. Something kept going wrong with each one. I finally got myself a pair of Bluetooth noise cancellation headphones. Now I can listen to audiobooks all day with no wires getting in the way. I just hope they last longer than the other ones. Not only can I listen to books all day, I don't have to listen to my assistant. It's a win-win so far. I love your wedge cutting idea. I'm stealing it.

Some people may watch this and think, "It's for his son and he built it the same way he builds everything. He didn't do anything extra. No special attention for his own son." Those people would be wrong. In fact, you build EVERYTHING with the same care and attention to detail as something you build for your own child! You may want to add the date built to the bottom, along with the date you and your son make repairs to the wagon X years from now. Your grandchild will appreciate it. :)

I can clearly remember pulling my baby brother around with him sitting in our old wagon. Also when they get older I’m sure that they will want to add their creative marks to it giving it even more personality. I used it, my little brother used it, all our kids used it. Three years ago, I found it in the barn. It was in rough shape. I brought it home, cleaned, stripped, repaired and repainted. I gave it to my oldest grandson. Now the younger grandson is using it. It has survived since 1951. I hope one more generation gets to use it.

Hi Mike. I bought the plans for this and have started working on the project. How did the floor hold up? Any sag? I was thinking of running the boards side to side rather than length-wise, or using plywood, unless you believe it's problematic or unnecessary. Thanks.

The floor has a little flex, but thats with two kids in it. I think you would run the boards either way, but lengthwise has worked well.

Hi Mike, I wanted to know how do you call the Horizontal Boring Machine Router Jig you use to make the Mortises for the side rails (Minutes 7:49-8:11). And if you have a link to a website where I can find one it will be great.

It is called a pantorouter.
