Just want to express my gratitude to you all for what you're giving back to the industry. In my own career in the pool industry, I've experienced and concluded that what separates the really good from the great in any given profession is the commitment to elevate those around you by giving back what you've been given. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent.

Amazingly good content. Thanks for doing these Mike. It's comforting to hear that people who have been doing this way longer than me are facing the same challenges and also hearing how they deal with them. Some real gold in here.

Finally getting caught up watching these. Loved hearing from Kendall.

Really enjoyed the nuanced conversation. The part about quality over quantity hit home for me.

Yeah but still clients be like "did you take this angle...did you take the toilet?" Like as if you're supposed to be documenting the entire building. Argh!

Thank you @mikekelley for this video. I’m just starting and i still haven’t figured out what kind of photography would i like to create. I need money but not that much. I would really like to go for the quality over quantity and i don’t know should i start with RE and with time make transition to ID or architectural photography. Or should i go for what i’d like to actually do from the beginning and fill my portfolio with what i’m happy with? Jeez Louise, too many words just to say Tnx. 😊

Great chat Mike! Your mic was pretty quiet compared with the other speakers which made it a bit jarring during back and forth.

50:55 I APPROVE THAT ANSWER! 100%. Plus you will get shots that other people do not have. Especially if the building gets remodeled or even demolished. So get in there and shoot till you get kicked out. They cant take you card or make you delete photos. =-)

56:44 Photoshop Sky Replacement tool or just make what you have look good with composition. ( i.e. wet cement. As Kendall mentioned )

Hate I missed this! I wonder about travel. Does the client pay for that or is it something the architectural photographer would add to their cost?
@mdhazeldine3 жыл бұрын
That's a personal decision. I include travel if it's within 2hrs, which is most of my work at the moment. I would definitely charge for any overnight stays or travel bills beyond that.

Remember that the word photograph comes from photo = light and graph = draw (as in paper). Unless you develop the photo and make it a physical thing, what we use today are photos, images or pictures. But not photographs. It is just like autograph= your own writing on a paper. There has to be a chemical reaction to make a photograph.

A ridiculous take. Language evolves and changes - which is why we still say "to dial a phone number" even though we haven't used rotary phones in 40 years+.
