Pretty much. Literally any player that can take minutes off our starters at a minimum would be an upgrade, and that player would be better than ESR just from sheer availability aspect alone.

He's not talking about that. He's talking about the solution a firing ESR offers the team. Trent & KDB do not play the same position but they provide a specific solution to specific problems. Saka and Yamal offer similar solutions, but are very different types of wingers to a Rashford or Mbappe. Rashford is Mbappe lite. ESR is a lite version of a Musiala. If ESR leaves, we need someone who replaces his best qualities that solve a specific problem. Other players in the "ESR/Musiala" mould are Xavi Simons, Eze and Desire Doue.

I think Arteta likes building his squad back to front during windows. So Im confident an attacker will still come in. I think Arteta just looks at how the ball progresses from the back, and the type of forward he brings in, might actually depends on the cb/lb or left 8 he brings in.

I personally like the thought of Viktor Gyokeres as a Arsenal Striker. I don't see him as a Declan Rice Level Signing... But my thoughts is Arteta can get Havertz (who everyone thought was Finished) to produce results...The release clause is the biggest stumbling Block (100 Million Euros) feels like too Big of a Risk...but look at his numbers and imagine him playing in this arsenal Attack ..

Not a fan of the Williams take - not because I'm a huge fan of him in particular, but because I think we should be buying future ballers when the market allows for it, especially when they improve us and give us something we don't have in the now too. Williams kinda reminds me of Vini Jr before he went boom.

Does Merino still make sense if we don't sell Partey? We'd have Rice, Partey, Merino, Jorginho as 6 options, and only Odergaard and Vieria as 8/creative box to box options. For me we have to target a profile like Eze or Morgan Gibbs-White. Someone who can play 8, but then also provide depth on either wing too. We kill two birds with 1 stone. Basically a very own version of Bernado Silva. We can't just rely on Odegaard and Vieria to be our midfield creators. If Odergaard gets injured who pickles up the creative mantle ? Can Merino do that?

Im a fan of Merino. Who's to say that Newcastle used him correctly, that the system fit him. If nothing else hes the objectively one of the best headers of the ball in Europe. I think hes good for goals in our already formidable corner kick abilities. Arteta will find the fit.

George going off the mark with the Riccardo Calafiori situation, nothing to do with Riccardo Calafiori being on holiday and not being available to doing a medical. George painted a picture than being informed with correct information. Bologna is trying hard pressing Basel in lowering their sell-on clause, this is causing a pause in the Calafiori transfer valuation. Bologna would accept £30m if they did not have to give up half the money they receive. I think Arsenal will stump up an extra €8m-€10m to get it over the line but it might be tight, Bologna could get upset dealing with Arsenal in the coming week or so. Riccardo is likely to take a pay cut before he already signs, just weird in Arsenals transfer valuation of some of these players.

English Football has almost become a misnomer. How can a country with such great players continually fail as a nation? 😂❤ Hopefully, your F.A. which is hopeless, can finally select someone competent. Personally, someone like Jose Morinho would be perfect. He knows England very well he knows the politics. And he's perfectly suited to fighting with the F.A. to get the players whatever is required to see improvement.
