As someone who has lots of free time, especially on weekdays when everyone else is off working a "real job", I often end up just not wanting to do much, and these streams are great to just lay here and watch or listen to. Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde has always been a mystery to me. They put effort in to the game giving it 2 endings and putting good detail to the graphics, the concept of playing as both Jekyl and Hyde, crossing over each other’s path is a great idea, but the gameplay, the most important part is atrocious. Anyway thanks for the entertainment Mike! Glad you upload on YT, people can comment on past streams, don’t think that’s possible on Twitch.

Mike, you should add a Jekyll-Hyde meter for you while you’re playing Jekyll and Hyde. Every time you get pissed and swear put it toward Hyde. When things are going well and you’re peaceful put it toward Jekyll. You could add cut scenes to the video for when you turn into Hyde. It’s almost like the game designers wanted the player to turn into Hyde in real life while playing, so they made the game as anger-inducing as possible.

You should try Mario Adventure (a smb3 hack). If you've tried it already, try Super Mario World: Bowser's Return or Mario's Lost World. They're both SMW hacks. They're fairly challenging but not kaizo sort of difficult. Also, they're the nicest looking hacks I've ever played in terms of aesthetics. Then go for Super Mario Star Road, a SM64 hack (also great!).

Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde never fails to make me laugh, god that game is to fucking terrible. The insane amount of damage you can take from a single bomb, the absurd knockbacks that ALWAYS send you left with no regard of which side you got hit from. Yeah sure. Not the worst NES game but my god they fucked literally everything you could fuck up and made no effort saving it. Even the sound design with all the pollution going on is fucking atrocious.
@mikematei2 жыл бұрын
Eh, the backgrounds on the hyde part are pretty nicely done. And the combat killing the monsters is kind of fun. I really have learned to not hate it.
@dalazo2 жыл бұрын
@@mikematei I always felt a game like this is fixed by giving you normal invis frames, smaller knockback or none at all etc. Even the npcs running at you are colored what if only the dark colors will dash to hit you. The art in general is decent same with most sound effects but everything is just too much. Thanks for the upload Mike, for some reason I enjoy watching you play that game. Have you ever beaten Plok? Mike, though it's up to you; we'd really like to see you try fighters out. Maybe Ryan can help since he has some knowledge on it. I've played fighters competitively for about 14 years and I recommend picking one character and only one character for a while. Pick the most basic characters, generally they are the main characters or the mascots (Ryu, Ken, Liu Kang, Scorpion, etc). This can serve for beat em ups in a way too. Sure, you won't be able to do much in the beginning but with some time and research along with a little practice you can do it. Don't doubt yourself. We all know you can make at least some progress and feel satisfied when you do. Fighters are a joy to play and it'd be a shame to ignore them just because you're intimidated or not confident in your ability. By the way if you want to try out a newer beat em up try The Takeover. It's a great SoR style game.
