It may have a heated intake (intake heater). Those are more common on larger diesel engines today. Whatever you do don't spray either in the air intake until you are sure what you have, that could be bad!

Yes, and winter gasoline too. Have problems with buying fuel at some small stations as they still have summer fuel when temperatures are -20 C and winter fuel on hot days in May.
