Mike is awesome! I'm into bonsai, and I actually like Mike's super rough cuts, which most people hate on... mainly because he understands cutting them back all the time promotes a lot of ramification and a fuller look plant.

Hi , love these how to videos. I propagated some pear and apple cuttings in march. Its mid may and they've leaved out. Just checking to see if I should leave them in the moist sand/ garbage bag/shade until late summer?

Mr. Chip, you can get the white plastic from any hardware store

Hey there, yes it is possible but Hardwood cuttings don't root well so it's best to take healthy growth of softwood cuttings in the spring around 4-8inches long, place some rooting hormone or honey and place in a warm spot until it roots

Would you elaborate on why you designed your sandbox so tall? Wouldn't it be better if it was built into the ground to take advantage of the warmer ground? Sort of like a mild form of bottom heat?

Mike, Is rooting hormone that comes as a white powder the same thing as root stimulator for putting on small veggy plants before planting.

great video thank you for explaining all this! on the propagating box, do you keep watering it through winter? I wouldn't imagine you're watering it alot??

That's a great design for a propagation box! I should really build something like that but only need about 2 square feet for my purposes. Would surely beat messing around with dozens of random pots and cups that I've been using for my cuttings. Where do you get the white plastic from?

Question... I live in idaho and we're having freezing nights already. I have propagated some hydrangea cuttings into small pots. I don't have a sheltered place outside to keep them. Can I store them in the house or garage? I'm not sure what temp would be best for them. Thank you Mike! I love your videos!

What's the rooting solution? Where would I go to get it? Would we do the same with Crepe Myrtles?

I sure hope you see this. I have a question about propagating laurel. I have been doing it for years and hubby asked me last night "why am I only doing them small, can't I take cuttings of bigger ones?" He shows me about 12-18". I know on the small ones, I remove all but the 2 leaves at the top, but how do I do it when they are bigger? Or is it now possible. I am trying it now but didn't remove leaves. I don't want to plant tons of them if they won't work. Please oh mighty mike, what say you? HAHA

Hi Mike, I also asked on your other video on prop. I have some diff hydrangeas going since august in 10"x10" plastic container with holes in the bottom. They look great so far. I'm in Green Bay Wi Zone 5 & we started nightime temps as low as 36 in the last week although it will warm up again. Goes back and forth before freezing! I need help Mike, if I plant these when & how do I protect them? If I have to overwinter them, where and how? I DO have attached unheated garage to mudroom. PLEASE help?

I know someone already asked this but so far no reply...so I'm repeating the question, kinda. Is it possible to do roses like this? Especailly in October? Thx for all you do for we 'fellow' gardeners.
