First time to the Philippines it took me about 6 months to figure out I was being scammed. And guess what...the female security guard at the Hilton told me she's been there multiple times with other men. Wow boy did I feel like a Ding Dong. Also forgot to mention 5 months on Filipino Cupid first, then a month in Manila. Trust me Mike hit every red flag. Lesson learned.

Too true, one hundred percent Mike. I had one that didn't want to video chat, but she wanted to start something. I hadn't experienced this before, so I initially accepted her excuses until I checked with a couple of her coworkers still working on the compound as me (she had worked there also, but I found out was fired due to .... let's say, "multiple liaisons" and drama). I asked about her and they said "RUN"!!! I'm glad I had those guys around to ask, but hopefully I would've cut her off due to my own suspicions. Hi Mike, happy to report my Filipina has no red flags so far, I am supposed to meet her family in January on my next trip. This is all pretty solid advice. Haven’t been to the Philippines five times, Knowing the culture, Having married a Filipino 19 years ago, (got divorced) I thought I couldn’t be fooled. My eyes led me to a younger gorgeous Lady who was a youth pastor and schoolteacher. I kept seeing red flags, I was purposely blind. Fortunately, she didn’t get me for much…. A good learning experience. When I started to pressure her on the red flags, She started to get short and angry, then I knew and I had to cut bait to fish again.

you likely won't get a Philippine bank account. But for sure you need an ACR-i card. but mostly that doesn't work now (unless you have a Filipina wife, or an SRRV)

Find someone roughly age appropriate, with a decent job, and at relatively the same socio-economic level as yourself, and most of these issues automatically go away. Granted, it may prove challenging to do so when you insert yourself into a foreign culture and you are competing with high value men from that culture, but keep working on yourself, be patient, be selective, and wait for the right opportunity.

Here’s number 12, When they lock their FB account(s) you have no way to research anything. Dishonest, but smart, women have multiple FB accounts but will never tell you they do, and they are often under names other than hers to keep you from tracking her accounts. AGAIN, MOVE ON!
