not too many channels cover how to do a bios update, so that's super informative especially for someone new to PC building, or just anyone in general looking to upgrade. im used to this sort of thing since I've had both Intel and AMD builds, but there's always new information to learn. i wish KZbin exited back in 2003 when i built my first PC when i turned 18, because there's alot that goes on with PC.

Thank you! If anyone has a problem with stutters/sound distortions/intermittent slowdowns of the computer after updating to a new and then reverting to older (known to be stable) BIOS, a possible solution is to do the BIOS Flashback to the factory BIOS and then update that to the BIOS you want. According to some owners online this is a solution. I just did that and I am going to do testing. I will report my findings.

I had to do this with my B450 Gaming Plus Max. I was surprised because the 5000 series processors have been out for a while. MSI should have marked the packaging that it didn't support to 5000 series chips. once it was updated to accept the ryzen 5000 series chips the bios needed to be updated to a latest release to bring it totally up to date. its funny how they are marketing these boards, the tomahawk plus and gaming plus look identical except for the colors....

Just a question... why doesn't the extraction process create a correctly named file? Seems odd that they deliberatly provide a file that can't be used unless you know to rename it?!? I'm lucky - my box has the Ryzen 5000 Ready sticker on it, so once the rest of my kit arrives I'm good to go. But its odd that you have to manually change the file name to get something as basic/important as your motherboard to work. I'm sure there is a reason, but I can't think of it - PC's are supposed to simple and easy, even at the tech end of the stick. The only time I have encountered renaming issues before was on unrecognised drives - USB / HDD / SSD - just renaming them seemed to work. But anyway my question is - why doesn't the package name itself correctly?
@mikesunboxing2 жыл бұрын
it is more for a upload or file management side of things, if the files were all converted to the same name there would be increased risk of using the wrong original file.

Off topic: You look like most of my buddies in the early to mid 90s when we were in the hardcore/gabber scene here in Rotterdam, Netherlands. I don't get that feeling with any other bald guy,

My light never speeds up. It slowly blinks to show that it's reading the drive, but even after an hour plus it never actually speeds up to show that it's writing. I'll have to try a new USB tomorrow and hope that's the issue, as I don't have another one lying around the house to try.

good luck with it

Different flash drive did the trick. Updated in 5 minutes then booted into windows. Thanks a lot for your help!

Sadly I can’t get it to flash. I get the bios flashes, and my thumb drive shows it’s being used but after about an hour there’s nothing

This is maybe easier to fix or at least advise if we can ask more questions and get direct answers, so feel free to join our Discord chat and we can go over it in more detail discord.gg/gaeeDPw

hi, i have a problem, i formatted my usb key in fat32, download the file, rename, just copy the msi.rom file in the empty usb key, connect the cpu and the power supply of the motherboard, I put the USB key in the location of the bios flash, I pressed the bios flash for 3 seconds and the light did not flash, it remained lit in red… I don't understand why. I hope someone has the solution, thanks in advance, and good video.

the BIOS led did not flash at all? that is unusual, could be a bad board, or it isn't getting power from both 24 and 8 pin

For me it didn't work when I disconnected everything. It was flashing slowly 3 times and nothing after that. Once I connected everything back it worked. Just gonna leave this here in case someone finds it useful.
