Can you fit normal monitor arms? The space in the cable tray is tight but yes I fitted a normal monitor arm but I had to use a Drive Ratchet Tool to install it. If you don't have a tool like that, the worse case scenario is taking out the cable tray and installing the monitor arm without it first. Once you install the monitor arm, I don't see you needing to adjust it much...unless you're like me and switch things around all the time xD 2. Is that an Elgato Low profile mic? Yes, I installed that in the cable management tray with no problems - it just fits! 3. Carpet affected stability? Yes, I'm sure carpet is a lot less stable compared to other flooring. However, I compared the wobble with my other standing desks on carpet as well and came to the conclusion I had in the video. 4. What's the drawer I'm using? Looks like the final production model is going to be great, and way too expensive for my nonexistent budget. 😅 Honestly, the only true criticism I have is for the monitor arm which is way too wimpy and considering their buyers tend to heavily lean towards the gamer side of users, they really should have known better than to even create something incapable of holding a big gaming monitor. Yes, monitors are getting thinner and lighter, but they're also getting bigger so that arm would only work for someone who needs a small monitor off to the side for whatever reason (and maybe they should market it for that use since it's very unobtrusive). Gamers and really anyone who does art, editing, even those who just need big monitors for other regular jobs aren't really going to be using those ultralight monitors quite yet, and those are generally the people who are going to be looking at buying this. I'm actually wondering how feasible it would be to put this desk on wheels. Bit of a scary thought but as long as the wheels lock and you don't try moving it while at max height, it might be okay? Would make things much easier to setup if it could. Though I'm actually mostly wondering because as a disabled person I always wonder if this kind of desk would work over a full zero gravity chair. Don't mind me. 😅 BTW, looks like you've also got yourself a good option for a loft bed there. Just needs a mattress, lol. Sexy desk display pose is on point too! 😂👍

Mine ended up coming in on time. They told me it would be delayed because the PC mount was delayed but I asked if they can ship the desk out first and they made an exception. Assembled it over the weekend and it is awesome! Just ordered 1 of the monitor arms to try that out as well.

Carpets are a stability killer, so the wobble you experience with the desk isnt accurate, wobble will drastically be reduced on hard floors. hope these helps.

Love the Magnus Pro XL! Got it 2 days after ordering and this review is spot on. I originally came from the original Magnus and the size difference is amazing, and my only gripe is the PC mount isn't available until Late October!! Oh and I can also say that they did fix the tip top height wobble. It's there slightly but an improvement from what your review unit had. Awesome review as always Cheers!

It's an amazing model. I love fancy desks, and I think they're a great way to make your environment a much more functional place to work. Nice review. They have some nice things going on like the integrated power through the leg and cable management. I'd like to see more color choices available for the top than just black. Who doesn't like a nice walnut or wood look to their desk?

Honestly that may be pretty easy to modify. There are places that sell just the tops to desks. Secure it to the frame, which may involve some drilling, and voila!

I'm 6'9" and at full height the desk does NOT wobble on hard floor. My issue is that desk top was damaged most likely in the warehouse. I sent photos but no response from secretlab.

What boom arm is that? The one linked in the description is the elgato one but from other reviews their clamps dont fit in the cable management tray (eg. the screw at the bottom hits the tray and you cant clamp it down). Also, what was your previous monitor arm? Does that also fit in the cable management tray?

I'm just about to pull the trigger on buying this desk, except for one nagging question... does anyone know how well the desk works with third party monitor arms? I have concerns about support for a 49 inch ultrawide monitor on an arm with this desk. If someone can speak first hand as to the experience with using third party arms and 34+ inch ultrawide monitors with this desk, I'd appreciate it :)

From all I've read, it's largely going to vary on each vendor's individual design, and I did see at least one setup online that included a 49 ultrawide on an arm. So it IS possible 😊 Only downside in all of this? I have to wait 2 months for the desk to arrive 😢

Love your videos and was hoping you would review this desk. I fell in love when I saw it was the exact size I've been wanting and the integrated power and the LAN solution they're working on is all really awesome. Really hope they can fix the small issues the wobbling in the final product as that is a big pain point for me, especially at higher positions being 6'3. Was originally gonna go with that new Ergonofis Sway because I love the color and material (soft touch) but I think this one has it beat in terms of the tech and cable management, especially since they make awesome chairs. 9:12 can you use just one arm on the monitor stand, if you want? If so. this is a really cool feature that only some monitor arms have. Allows you to stack monitors with ease!

Lots of red flags here : -metal tabletop : why ? There's litteraly no reason for it. It will get cold for the arms in winter, it's heavy and noisy. A wooden tabletop is infinitely better -full desk deskmat : again, completely useless. It's here simply due to the fact that metal is very unsatisfying to the touch. What about when you want to clean the mat, as you should regularly ? -weak monitor arm : I have an entry amazon one, has the same features and holds up my 34 inches ultrawide without a problem -monitor arm clamps over the deskmat : so basically, if one day you wanna move your monitor arm, you'll have a big ass mark on your mat. great. -wobbly AF -basic LED screen seems janky The only thing that's really neat is the power management and the fact that you can power it from the bottom of one of the feet.

It's a shame that a premium tier desk doesn't have a monitor arm that can support a premium tier monitor. Most, if not all of the ultrawide monitors these days are over the rated weight allowed on their monitor arm. It's probably the main thing that is keeping me from pulling the trigger right now on one of these desks.

Hey, I really hope you'll see this but I've got a burning question. I'm *this* close to pulling the trigger on this desk. My one hesitation is that I've got a 43" ultrawide monitor (secretlab doesn't create monitor arms for that size). Do you think there is enough space in the 'cubby' of the cable tray to mount any old monitor arm without interfering with the tray cover/hinge mechanism. Thank you in advance!!

Yup you'll be able to! However, you might need uninstall the tray first to get access to the edge to install the monitor arm mount. Also, you'll need to see how deep the monitor arm mount is and if the cable tray depth will fit it...

it's 220 lb minus the weight of the desktop, which is a little over 72.5 lb. The true load capacity is 192.5lb so you're quite a bit closer to the limit than you thought...

When you desk rear is facing the wall you don't really need the rear cover though, do you? As a matter of fact you can red of the whole cable management assembly and make cable management in a more elegant way, than a huge metal box strapped to the back. Also unless you have extremely powerful PC build towers are long outdated and are a waste of space. You can build almost top config in ITX with zero issues and no noise.

Can you please confirm if the power cable socket can be switched from left or right legs? Assuming the legs can be used left or right sides of the desk interchangeably. Would be pretty big for considering positioning of my desk closer to a power outlet on my wall.

Maybe you could place some weights in the cable tidy area so it wobbles less when higher. its something they should of fixed considering the price. Great review! showed me bits on the desk that no other reviews mentioned. the Monitor arms strength is a massive issue some monitors are super heavy and they should sort that for sure!
