I have watched many young athletes bloom early and plateau for different reasons. Mikey (4-star) is a solid high school player but may have plateaued because he is in his own way. The level of arrogance is high. The lack of hustle on defense is telling. I hope for nothing but the best for this kid in college. However, he must humble himself to succeed--too many five-star hungry athletes at the next level.

From what I saw in this video he ain't making the leauge. He has a big ego plays 0 defense chucks up shots and not even making them. His basketball iq is non existent drives in to traffic, careless with the ball. Yeah a lot of stuff he needs to work on he'll be humbled in the next stage for sure and realize he needs to work on his game more.

Ty Ingram CARRIED San Ysidro! Mikey and JJ have been disappointing to watch for about a month straight now and the team chem is so low. 6:55-7:29 I think is the perfect description for what high school basketball has become. Just watch the shot selection, amount of guys back on defense and offense, and the pace and lack of getting set up on defense. Mikey was the only one who made a good pass which lead to an open score. He didn’t need nba level skill to do that just needed to control the pace and make easy plays.

Mikey disappointing bruh. He’s obviously not good under pressure, was rattled all game, he doesn’t move without the ball, he doesn’t defend, and the little offense he created completely disrupted the offense everytime he tries to make a play. If I was their coach I would’ve benched him this game at some point early to get his mind right. If he doesn’t find a competitive edge soon as far as effort then he will fade out first year in college. I would go so far to say subconsciously he doesn’t care because of the deals he already has.

That said, he has the skills to succeed, but he has an uphill battle ahead of him. It's all on him to succeed or not.
