Qahwa or Arabic coffee is best suitable with dates, dates will serve as your sweetener, and brewed together with the cardamon pod as an added spice. The red sauce is tamatim sauce or tomato sauce with chilis and a bit of coriander, and the raita or yoghurt with chopped cucumber, the green sauce is a mint leaves, vinegar & sugar for dipping meat or lamb. The dessert is mahalabia, it's a sweet milk pudding with ground cardamon.

Hello Mr. Mikey. I love seeing you visit Saudi Arabia. Holding hands is acceptable than “akbay” (putting one’s arm over another shoulder of someone). But it also depends on the context. Wearing shorts below the knee is acceptable. Traditional restaurant is the best. The red paste is grind tomatoes with chili, coriander. I am hoping you try CAMEL or GOAT meat. It’s the Best Mr. Mikey. Always greet specially entering any establishment or approaching someone. Just say Salam or Salamu alaykum. Thanks for sharing and visiting KSA. I felt like roaming around saudi arabia again with your videos Mr. Mikey. Thank you

Hi guys hope you enjoyed Jeddah and had fun. Unfortunately lots of reviews about Saudi is written about travelers long time ago, since our vision 2030 saudia has changed and lots of old misconceptions about us and our culture were corrected The small stick thing in the airplane is actually roller with perfume not a lip palm Saudi coffee is actually filled with caffeine like other coffee If you ever coming again try to book you trip to Riyadh during Riyadh season, would be happy to give you guys a tour Enjoy and happy to help

Coffee is not illegal in Saudi Arabia, lol! Only liquors! Labneh is some form of yogurt. And yes, Saudi isn't as strict as before during the reign of the muttawas (religious police - they were stripped of power some years back). The first food you ate at that local restaurant is called 'faham' (grilled chicken) and that reddish sauce is made of tomatoes and chilis, not pomegranate. It's like salsa. Saudis are nocturnal and you got the reason right - it's because of the hot weather during the day. You should have visited Al Ulah to see Madain Saleh/Hegra (sister city of Petra,Jordan), another UNESCO World Heritage site. And my favorite place in Saudi Arabia which is Tabuk, the setting of Exodus during Moses' (Musaa in Arabic) time. There you can see Jethro's tomb (father-in-law of Moses), the Red Sea crossing and split rock of Moses, golden calf altar and the real Mt. Sinai. I'm Filipino and I've been living and working here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the past 23 years now!

Hello Mikey and RJ! I was surprised to hear that you’re in Jeddah. Many OFWs would be thrilled to know you’re here, especially given our large community in the city. With Saudi Arabia becoming more open to tourism, Jeddah’s unique blend of history, culture, economic significance, and urban lifestyle really sets it apart from other cities. As for wearing shorts, I don’t think it’s forbidden, except in public offices. It’s not just Filipinos wearing above-the-knee shorts; you’ll also see many foreign males and locals jogging in shorts. Just make sure it’s appropriate for the setting. I hope to see you both when you return, and please let the Philippine Consulate know so they can show you what life is like in KSA and the real Arabian culture. Stay blessed!

I'm a Filipino based in Dubai and when I am home, even when I'm in PH, Id sometimes wear the short sleeved Kandura. It breezy and cozy to wear specially on hot/warm days. It's very affordable, you should've bought one. 😉 About being out late,... Here in the middle east, malls and food/entertainment establishments stay open until late night usually until 11pm during weekdays, 12midnight or even 1-2am during the colder winter months or during Ramadan. This is one of those 'reverse culture-shock' I get everytime I'm in the PH. I'm always surprised that restaurants and malls closed at 9pm! ,🤷🏻

I used to go to afghan restaurants cuz it's a lot cleaner and tastier than Indian restaurants. That rice is biryani. They really eat without a spoon and fork and food are served really hot. That dipping sauce with cucumber is called "raita"- with yogurt. U will not feel full cuz biryani aren't that heavy on the tummy + glycemic index is a lot lower.
