@tripens21Ай бұрын
According to my own experience, Buldak is somewhere between 7 and 9 on the Ichiran spice scale. However, Ichiran's spice is much more of an aftertaste; it doesn't slap you in the face like Buldak.

I'm mad at ichiran only because they've raised the prices so much. I used to go almost everyday past midnight a long time ago when it was still 600yen a bowl, that's like 4$. Now its double the price and its still going up. Sad

@@Official-OpenAI So what? Yen is still losing value and drives prices up.
@Official-OpenAI3 ай бұрын
@@Arthrexx Ichiran only uses domestic produce. So no imports. The reason why they are raising its prices is because demand, that's about it. Prices still went up when Japanese yen was strong around 2020
@Arthrexx3 ай бұрын
@@Official-OpenAI You don't think far enough, though. They use only domestic produced products. Which is okay and actually admirable. But what about the providers of those products? They have to get things as well to keep their production going. Most importantly oil which is always getting more expensive. Feed for livestock, energy for greenhouses etc. etc. Certainly demand plays also into it. 2020 was during Covid, which is an era where everything got more expensive all over the world.

Adding okonomiyake to my bucket list too, as I'm not sure if we have anyplace serving it here in Dallas...? One day I will return to Japan!
