THANK YOU FOR THIS!! I've been crocheting for about a year now and I tried to follow the written instructions without a video at it was a mess LOL but your guide was super easy to follow and understand!! I also loved the extra tips for cheesing the last round

It works just fine for me with a 5mm hook and these tips really helped too. These are things the label doesnt tell you or explain. Thanks Mikey! I love my squares so far. I'm using "Shadow" colorway. Thanks Mikey.

Great to see an update video from you! The ball band is showing 5.5mm. I successfully use both a 6.5mm & and 7mm depending on how I’m feeling. I am also using my regular granny pattern so I’m loving the yarn! 🎉🧶💜😁

Thank you for the help! I finally caught on, and I love the way my granny squares are turning out. Red Heart has been around forever but it is really one of the best yarns aroung.

Thanks for the great video, Mikey. I think it is amazing that Red Heart has come out with these great color combinations and made it easy for others to make granny squares effortlessly.

This tutorial was very helpful. I watched so many reviews I decided I had to try it myself. Since I have plenty of other yarn and projects I’m working on, I have no reason that this has to work perfectly. That said, it took me a few try’s and some hook changes mid square to complete my first one. It is kind of like playing solitaire on my iPad. If I overshoot or undershoot the row, I just adjust and redo it. I got it each row to work eventually and it was kind of fun! Michael is a great tutor and with the right attitude, I think this yarn is great! Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this video!! On the ball band that I was following you chained 1, not 3. By changing to 3 single crochet between, it made a world of difference. Thank you, thank you!!🤓

Bought the yarn and I'm looking forward to trying it. I am usually a knitter, but I crochet too. I'm thinking I'll measure how long each strand of color is and then after many attemps at it, and probably frogging a lot, I'll be able to figure out where I should be on the measurement of each corner of the square to stay in pattern. This way I can catch any inconsistent crocheting corner to corner. Thank you for the excellent video. I subscribed! 🧶

I think that with all the tension manipulation the squares will warp. In the long run it may take less time to weave in ends.

I thought my tension was super tight before I used this yarn. Even with a 4.25 hook and tight tension, I run over to the second color right before the slip knot at the end of round 1!

Thanks for the tutorial! I'm just learning how to crochet, and I have this colorway too. My first attempt is a circle, now though my squares are pretty consistent. It's nice for me at my level, granny squares seemed intimidating. I am still working on a nice ending to the square though...

It’s a cute idea but when I do granny squares it’s because it’s easy and I don’t want to think about the project. This is very tedious.
@snospmoht32528 ай бұрын
To each their own... weaving in a gazillion ends is a much more tedious requirement to many of us to be honest.

So when we want to join all the squares together, did red heart make complimentary yarn in solids to be able to do that? Or are people joining their squares using the granny square yarn?

You can wash it first just put in a hosiery bag. I’ve seen others do that. Softens up nicely. 😊

@@LisaT_ oh, thank you for the suggestion! unfortunately it’s the texture of the fibers rubbing against each other that doesn’t work for me. it’s like nails on a chalkboard. i do hope this idea catches on, tho, because maybe someone else will make their own version
