To be honest , I do not find anything in common between Alexander and Carrie, and I was surprised he pursued her given the ignorance she showed off the bat ( that phone scene alone , I had second hand embarrassment of how Carrie behaved because some one with an accent called her, how condescending ) He is a sensitive, smart, cultured, creative and a man of few words and is brutally honest , these are qualities that you appreciate in a man as you grow older. Carrie on the other hand is materialistic, shallow and cynical and does not know what romance and proper courting is if it hits her in the face. It is sad how the show portrayed his character in later episodes to prepare for Big’s return into Carrie’s life. But true, the man who matches her ( in all her imperfections) is Big, not Alexander ( nor Aidan for that matter). These two “deserve” each other.

I find this character's aloof demeanor unattractive, but I guess that is a trait which some women are pulled to. I liked Steve the best out of any character on this show, personally. I thought he was the most realistically written. Carrie looks lovely here though! Love that flapper-esque dress, very glamorous.

Yeah that’s what worked about them- the palpable discord and air of something that could never last. It was interesting to watch because they had no business being with each other. Two totally self-absorbed people. He makes no secret of it; she hides behind a curtain of false empathy. The only relationship in the show that I actually found watchable. I remember watching White Nights when I was very young. I was very impressed with the dance routine he did with Gregory Hines. European men have a seriousness and confidence often lacking in American men, as well as a worldly sophistication. A certain type of woman finds these qualities very attractive especially when balanced out with a good sense of human and dry wit that is, on occasion, self-deprecating.

This reminds me of my life now. A man from Poland wants me to come there and meet him. He buying the round trip plane ticket. We met on Instagram. And of course we’ve done FaceTime etc. I’m a gay male.
