... and thus began the astonishing development of a whole generation of women, who only know Mikhail Baryshnikov -- the greatest ballet dancer of all time -- as "the sexy Russian guy" on Sex in the City. Lol...

Is that why he kept interrupting Charlote? And told her to shup up by a finger as if she is his toddler?? Acting so important and full of himself? As European woman i couldnt stand watchin him.in series. Only American women are amazed by his character, to us, he is soooo annoying!
@elenakrane11653 жыл бұрын
@@biba3025 as a woman I can say,, American women need to learn some class, and give themselves some value. Be your own, but don't be trashy. I'm from a family of feminist, from dad to brother and mom and sister we hold feminine in high respect and anything he can do, doesn't mean u can do it too, it means you can do it better, but acting low it's a sign of how much u give respect to yourself, and maybe her own behavior of "oh, I am a big mac girl and I can't take it when a man is respectful to me" gave him room to think... "oh,, is that so" let me be more of an 🍑.

To be fair, Charlotte wasn’t quite the epitome of dignity in that moment, so that’s where they clashed. That’s how some Russians are. To them it’s normal not to pander to what may seem nonsensical to them. It seems like an illogical waste of time. That’s part of where the “cold Russian” stereotype comes from. I’m not Russian, but have trained with them in sports, and as an INTJ I have understood their perspective. In other cultures, it is considered polite to pretend they are ok with that sort of interaction, regardless of how embarrassing it might be to either or both parties. There isn’t necessarily a wrong or right either way. Just different ways of responding.

A person comes to you Without introducing herself… and the friend that is with you. the name of the gallery that she used to work for … and she started acting like a fool without dignity …. also is not very elegant or respectful to talk about another artist carriers at the exhibition preview of another artist , and Charlotte as a Character would have never talked to him like that during the exhibition… If you don’t act proper you don’t deserve accondiscendense . They write Charlotte in this scene like she never worked in a gallery or in the art word for 10 years… Quite stupid. The art industry is quite rigid and manners are everything !

Carrie's rethoric and points of interest are the ones of a 15 year old girl. What kind of a woman pushing 40 with one shred of class and Lady like manners would react in this way? It's actually good that I was 15 when satc first aired, I'm not sure if i could go through a scene like this at 30

Yeah I think he was pretty rude to Charlotte. She was the one that stopped him to tell him that she was a fan of his work and he kind of disregards her praises to talk Carrie, who couldn’t care less about the art exhibit.
@ludoludo803 жыл бұрын
Actually you don’t talk about other artist career during another artist exhibition. rule n 1 of gallery etiquette Then She was rude during the exhibition and when he understood that she worked in the art world he was upset Then She didn’t introduce herself … she didn’t introduce the gallery that she used to work for … she didn’t introduce her friends … and she was talking , talking about his past … She was quite rude herself… So he reacted Accordingly … The character is supposedly be monolithic in his seriousness… so no disrespect admitted!

Ivy Hoss Well, he'll be 70 next year, and I read a Vanity Fair interview in which he said he was approached by the producers and he thought it would be a fun think to do. Over a decade ago yet responded to someone who asked he would dance (ballet) one more time and he referred to his age then. it's not just a dance it's rehearsal after rehearsal after rehearsal, no matter how well you've danced (at his level) your body catches up with you. It becomes more "work" and stops being pleasurable

I can’t believe these two well established actors are acting like needy, desperate women they are willing to throw themselves at any man. Who wrote the script for the scene? It has to be a misogynist. She’s telling the guy upfront. She’s willing to take breadcrumbs and that she’s desperate. She’s willing to give herself away without letting him prove that he’s even worth her time. The show was an awful example to young women that were watching us at that time horrible and it promoted the hook up culture which does nothing for the woman.
