As a straight male, I could defend being a fan of this show at least for the first 4 seasons. The writing was top notch, really good stuff, in terms of catching people's thoughts and psychology in relationships, even the slightest details, they would completely nail them. After that, and especially during the last season, they cheapened it, made it a soap opera, they retorted to worn out writing tricks. Carrie was supposed to be pleasant, witty, and unexpectedly feisty. Thats how she enticed men. For some reason, they made her a bimbo, an airhead. And a woman with Sarah Jessica Parker's looks, especially at age 40, cant afford to be a bimbo.

@@fotoautomatmusic right. And we live in a world where plastic surgery is now so advanced that anyone can change their entire face to fit any beauty standard, and SJP could certainly afford it. Alexandr was a great match for Carrie. Look at how he stood up to this conceited witch’s attempt to put Carrie down. I have no doubts there would have been no hesitation if and when Alexander and Carrie were in his family’s presence to introduce Carrie with respect. Meantime Big embarrassed her at church embarrassing her by tagging her as just a friend to his mother. It’s sad they had to make Alexander out to be a jerk whtn he was an artist who needed isolation to work. I’m sure if Carrie barged into one of Bigs boring board meetings demanding immediate attention Big would have behaved the same way - or worse. The only reason why Big wised up and wanted Carrie is because he could no longer have her sue to her relationship with Alexandr. Then he wins her back and humiliated her by not showing up for their wedding. Yeah yeah I know. They did end up getting married at City Hall. But sorry, only a first class jerk does that to a woman
