The pin goes in from the top, you have that upside-down, gap to the bottom to give 4mm vertical adjustment

To adjust the hinge compression, i.e. to bring the opening sash/door closer to the door frame, you would rotate the hinge pin with a 5-mm allen key, or if that was not enough, you could remove one of the packers from behind the plate which is secured to the door outer frame. Then if you are still not happy, you should investigate if the correct gasket has been fitted into the door frame and the door sash. This could be replaced if it has been damaged or deteriorated.
