I don’t think it was necessarily that people were upset with her for dropping the disney persona. I think it was moreso that the hip hop persona she picked up clearly still wasn’t HER. We could all tell she still wasn’t her self. It’s when she stopped trying so hard to “not be disney”, that she really found herself and her voice. THIS sound is so much more her. So to me it was just the norm.

It's funny, brother. I remember being at a barbecue and I was sat playing Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, and Blue Oyster Cult. My friend's (new) step-dad comes up and sits beside me and him. First thing he says is: 'I bet you don't even know who these guys are, do you?' I wave my phone, which is hooked up to the aux, and say: 'Thin Lizzy. Jailbreak. 1976.' Be careful with this attitude you have. Some of us grew up with the right parents. And sometimes, even though we're 'millennials,' we've had the internet a hell've a lot more time than you: and plenty of time to do our research.

Even though, they were able to intermesh with each other on the radio stations and all. But, they were around the time that Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and the other bands were writing song's about getting high on acid, instead of mostly weed. But, like I said, they still kept going through the 70's, 80's and early 90's. At least until the grunge rock music and the rap music took over the lead of the music world. I always like her covers. She doesn't change the arrangements much, if at all, She just sings the hell out of 'em. I really love her voice more and more as she gets older. I definitely think she's in her element when she does rock songs.

As a Floyd fan since before I can remember, and even more so as this is one of my favorite Floyd songs, I rabbit-holed myself to this video fully expecting to be neutral on it at best (to be fully honest, I'm neutral on Miley, and am very particular about covers of songs that I like - I thought I would hate this and click away after the first couple of verses). It's been a while since I've been this wrong - This is AMAZING!!!
@j9andphoenix4 жыл бұрын
I too ventuied into this with some trepidation - for the integrity of the song - I have recently watched a few of Miley's perfomances of covers and appreciate very much she is way more talented than pop culture shows - that said - I was in until the na-na-na - maybe Iam just being protective of this song and the memories.

Your voice is quite unique and very soothing in a raunchy way that I love. You have turned me into a fan of your unique style and creative expression.
