I think with this show, Westerners lose the privilege of laughing at Japanese TV game shows. Because at least those people embrace the cringe and go all out, including no script, just an outline. Whatever it is, no one's pretending this is about "love" and "chances" and "challenging stereotypes of old age and women's agency". No one acknowledges this is a bad idea. Say one of the woman on here finds a guy, how long do you think its gonna last realistically after the cameras stop rolling?

I hope they come up with a show like 'B.D.E. Dads,' where they put a bunch of 50 year-old dudes in a seedy, rundown bar over Spring Break, hustle in a bunch of college-age chicks, and see which guy can get the most girls to go back to the worst looking motel you've ever seen over the entire Spring Break. The dads get bonus points for every girl they hookup with that is in the same class as their daughter. Further bonus points if their son previously dated a girl they nab. That's about the only way a show could be creepier than 'Milf Manor.' So, naturally, the public demands it!

The thing about this show is it is so pretentious. This is like Twitch Th0ts. Everyone knows ahat they're there for. Including the girls on camera. But we're gonna pretend we like videogames and painting and exercise. Think about this gor one second: Say a woman on this show actually finds a guy from this group. How long do you thinks its gonna last after the cameras stop rolling? Plenty of age-gaps work out. But look at this setting and be realistic : You were locked on an island and mandated to pick someone with cameras pointed at you the whole day. And there's a script and ratings in between. The only other comparable scenario is Hollywood celebs. And look at the state of marriages in that sphere.😜😜

I learned that the name Randy just doesn't fly in the UK when I got sent over from the States on a work project. The head of the IT group we sometimes had to call for London was a guy based in Omaha named Randy, and my UK employees just couldn't keep it together whenever they had to talk to him. Poor ol, simple, socially awkward, Midwestern Randy thought all the UK people were insane because they'd laugh for apparently no reason when they'd talk to him. But to Randy's credit, a year or two later we ended up working together on site for a temporary project, and when I explained why his name was so funny to the UK guys he decided to change it. A week later all the company databases listed hin as Rand instead of Randy, and as far as I know, he introduces himself as Rand to this day. To be fair, Randy isn't a particularly appealing or popular name for Americans these days (decades ago it might have been but not anymore), but our brains don't immediately equate it with sex and horniness like the British do.

There's that phrase, "it's like a train wreck you can't look away," but some of us can. I watched someone jump in front of a train on my birthday, on my way to work. I remember seeing the lights of the train as it approached the station and then it stopped, I wondered why. I remembered pushing the emergency button and asking, "why has the train stopped?" and someone explained to me, "someone jumped in front of the train." I remember being somewhat numb and after a few moments saying, "Oh. So when is the train coming then? Will there be buses instead?" Because life goes on and we all have our priorities don't we? I was going to be LATE FOR WORK... and I do pride myself on punctuality. That night I watched for eight hours as a generation of losers emptied their wallets into slot machines and then I caught a train and went home in the morning asking myself the question, "Is it harder to watch someone end their life or slowly throw it away?" I still don't have an answer. Western culture is going off a cliff and I ask myself at what point do we know that we have 'hit bottom?'
