In Japanese, when a friend is leaving, you just say "jah" or "jah ne" in context they might see again. When you say "Sayonara" in it means you will never see each other again. The fact that Rimuru said "Sayonara" to Gobta and Ranga had me laughing. Ranga was so cute too.

As far as the money thing goes I don't think it was a "non-issue." It's like being told 3000 people are expecting pay and all you have is 2 days and a bunch of $1 million dollar bills. Nobody would be able to easily break down those bills into something you can pay the merchants with, and whoever bailed you out of the problem suddenly has huge leverage on you. Rimuru literally had to ask the leader of another country for an incredibly large loan, with no notice, and even then it wasn't enough and he lucked out. If even one of those pieces didn't line up everything crumbles and Tempest would have a huge national embarrassment. I think what they're saying is that's exactly what the shady group was aiming for.

Basically yes. It's pretty heavily implied that the Rosso family is behind this. They can't fight Rimuru's nation through military action, so they are trying economic and political sabotage in the background. The Rosso family are human supremacists who hate the idea of a Demon Lord Slime conquering the human nations just by using economic and technological innovations. Rimuru really is poised to become the most powerful nation in this world through not only military power but also through advanced technologies like his actually working on bringing in trains to this world. That technology alone and his control over it by being the nation that can build it across multiple kingdoms through various treaties is going to make Tempest vastly more wealthy and powerful than it already is. The Rosso family is desperate to figure out some way to prevent the future they see coming.

Well it isn't loan since rimuru is just exchanging currency. He give stellar coins for normal gold coins. yeah it was very big deal for tempest and it's reputation. A good reputation is far more valuable than some gold coins.

@@ratre7349 Yeah, not a traditional loan, but it's like showing up to a bank with those bills, you're not gonna be able to walk up to a teller and ask her to "please break these million dollar bills down." You'd need multiple days notice, and it's a whole complicated process with security and so on

It's heart warming to see Masayuki find someone he can actually talk to. Not only is Rimuru Japanese but he is also one of the only people in the world who is not affected by Masayuki's power, so they can have a real honest straight forward relationship which seems to be something Masayuki is severely lacking.

I think the point of the money exchange scene was to establish the western province group as hostile towards tempest. In addition the 3 powerful nations established official relations. I agree it didn't have to play up the idea that it was an actual problem so much, however 😊there's some really good world building.

I would recommend checking out the light novels for Slime.The adaption is visually great but also great at adding confusion. Though I would warn the novels are much slower paced than the anime.

In LN when Raphael was explaining his ability to rimuru, she told that lower level ability doesn't work against ultimate skills. While choosen one is extremely close to ultimate level in performance, it still can't effect someone with actual ultimate skill.
