Thank you for giving honest, helpful opinions of the Air Force. The commercials for the Air Force look very cool showing off the technology, but you are right in saying that the government can be cheap sometimes.

Thank you for all the information, I am currently a CVICU 7 years experience nurse and I have two questions for you if I may:- 1. What’s the difference between Air-force, National Guard, and Navy Nurses? 2. Does your information apply to a Reserve or Active Militarily Nurse
@velvetvascular8085
@velvetvascular8085 5 жыл бұрын
your first question is way too much for her to answer and that info would come from a recruiter. for your second, you should simply look up the differences between being reserve and active duty and that should answer your question. but both of your questions are good questions for a recruiter.

Was curious...do you have to salute officers from the Navy & Army? Really informative information!!! Thanks Jay!! Always love your positivity 🌱🌻!!!

Great question, I had to ask that myself. The answer is YES! We as officers are supposed to salute officers from other branches. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. For me, it's hard to tell what rank the navy officers are just because of the color of their uniforms and where they wear their rank. It is important to salute those that out rank you though. Salute arm STRONG lol!

Jay Quinn I can definitely understand (I never thought about the different color uniforms and rank placements on other branches 😮!). Thank you for clarifying this! & Thank you for your service 💙❤️👏🏾

Hello Jay. I want to join this January coming up and was wondering if I can go straight into ICU nursing? I will be a new grad. The only experience I have is a nursing Externship job that I have been holding the past 6 months and previous CNA. Thank you.
@JayQuinn92
@JayQuinn92 6 жыл бұрын
Hi. No you won't be able to go straight into the ICU if you chose to join the military as a new grad. You will go through the nurse transition program. If you want to join as an ICU nurse you will need ATLEAST 6 months of ICU experience to qualify for that speciality. Good luck to you.

Jay Quinn Do they usually put new grads in Med- surge? And if I get experience in another unit such as medsurge can they eventually train me in ICU? Or do I have to have civilian ICU experience first? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you for answering :)

Thanks Jay! This is a very informative video and it's helpful to me. I am finishing my pre-reqs now and hopefully will begin the LVN to RN transition. Question: Do you work with any LVNs that are military? Thanks!
@tdgdbs1
@tdgdbs1 6 жыл бұрын
The Army trains and utilizes LPNs; civilian LPN with experience can enlist at advanced rank (up to E4). You can easily transition from LPN to RN and further to NP/CRNA without any worries about the financial aspect of such moves. BSN only and you are expected to wear many hats on top of your nursing duties. One thing to keep in mind if you are a seasoned critical care nurse; the salary is not comparable, even for NP/CRNA who received commission as 0-3/Captain.

Do they have post partum nursing in the Air Force? All I see is NICU. And labor and delivery.

Hey jay Quinn:) do you still work 3 twelves or is it more like 4 or 5 twelves a week? I had a hard time understanding that part, thanks!
@JayQuinn92
@JayQuinn92 7 жыл бұрын
Hi sorry if I wasn’t clear. It’s still 3 12s. However it could also be followed by 1-3 “on call” days right after which technically if i were to get called in would become 4 or more days I will have worked. This is due in part to the staffing on our unit. It’s very short right now with 1 person deployed and 2 more getting deployed in Jan!
