Thank you for this!! I would also add that people can buy ABUs ahead of time, I bought mine from the Propper website. They have an easy return policy as well, in case you order something that doesn't fit well. I've had several people recommend Danner boots, specifically the ones that zip up the side. These videos are so informative. It's nice to know that you still talk to the friends you made in COT/OTS.

+RisaNP Thank you! Oh yes I totally forgot about ordering online ahead of time! Very good idea if you know your size! Danner boots are great, I have a pair of those and a pair of Nike boots also! Thanks for watching!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate you making these videos for us. I am still so early in the beginning of my process but I am sure that this is what I want to do. I'm currently an RN but am taking an online program to get my BSN so I won't graduate the BSN program until this summer but your videos are helping to keep me encouraged and informed so much. If I ever run into you I'm going to give you a huge hug so don't be alarmed lol

Hi! I'm thinking about joining the Air Force. Thank you for making this video! It helped a ton. One question: you said that some people broke down and cried during COT. How is that viewed by the leadership? Full disclosure, I cry easily and I'm worried that they will throw me out for looking like a wimp. 😂

Hi! I came across your channel while looking up packing lists for COT! Could you receive mail during COT? If so, can your family send you things in large packages? (i.e. care packages or larger boxes that can hold a backpack)? Does this make you stand out and get yelled out for receiving these larger packages in the mail? Thanks!
@JayQuinn926 жыл бұрын
Hi yes you can receive mail and large packages! Someone gets the mail once a week and it’s delivered to the dorms. You’ll be given your “address” upon arrival and if not you can ask for it to give to family. I think it’s every Wed or Thursday was mail day! I had letters & packages from Amazon delivered lmao!!

Thank you for making this video. When you initially inquired about going into AF, did you walk into a healthcare recruiter or were you able to make an appt.? I’m looking into ANC and AF. I want this. Seems more professional for me to make an appt. Thoughts?

Sorry if I missed this.. Reserve officers don’t get a money card but they still get paid on the 1st and 15th during COT?

THANK YOU for the video! I have a question: Do they pay you while you are at COT? I heard they pay you around $6000, is that right? appreciate your reply.

I can’t say how much per say but you do get paid at COT. It just takes a little time to get the pay situation straight at first

I’m sure it’s in the comments but you mentioned a laptop...what’s their policy on usage? Strictly for schoolwork? Do people zoom their kids? Just curious...I personally won’t be speaking to anyone. I have a family. This is my vacation. I can’t wait to get away...but...they may want to say “hey” to me. Again...and I cannot stress this enough...I. Do. Not. Care...but they may wanna know.

This video is incredibly helpful! Thank you so much! I'm heading to COT in a few months and I have a couple of follow up questions. :) 1) Is coffee available with breakfast or to drink throughout the day? (If not, I will be starting my caffeine detox promptly!) 2) Are you allowed to keep breakfast bars/granola bars in your room? 3) Are you allowed to do the timed PT runs for the fitness test with an MP3 player or any kind of music (I don't know if I can run with only the sound of my own breath! Ha) and lastly, 4) How did you find the PT test (especially the push-ups? It seems like a pretty steep standard, especially for women since we naturally don't have as much upper body back/chest strength. Did anyone struggle to meet the push-up requirements?) Thank you so much!
@JayQuinn926 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes coffee is available at breakfast. I don't drink coffee but I heard it wasn't the greatest. When your flight gains more privlages you will be allowed to use the coffee maker in your flight room, and brew better coffee! Yes you can have snacks in your bookbag, in your room they have to be in an air tight container to keep bugs away. No at COT music is not allowed during the PT test. The PT test is pretty straight forward if you have prepared for it. They are strict and people who did not meet the standards by a long shot did have to go home. Not to scare you! The minimum is a 75 so if you come somewhere in the 60s you'll be put on like a PT probation type course because they know you will be to improve your score by the final PT test. You would work with the fitness leader in your flight to improve your score, you would also send in weekly reports as to how you are working on your fitness goals in your free time. Not to freak you out. Just to show that you are taking matters into your own hands. I know about 12 people who were on the fitness plan. Nothing crazy at all. They would just go to the gym more and changed their diet and things like that. Their score improved dramatically and one person won most improved in the fitness category!
