Hey Lukas, I have always heard that running a dairy farm is so much work and effort ! And having to be out in the cold damp weather makes it that much more difficult. Good thing y'all supply lots of milk to the consumer because I like drinking it, along with enjoying all the other products derived from milk. Keep uploading more YT content for us to watch.😅😊

Thank you so much, this brought back fond memories of my childhood days, school summer holidays spent helping my uncle milk the cows on his farm in the UK😊

Gosh, Whenever I've picked up my carton of milk at the supermarket I've never really thought of all the effort that has to go into milking the cows in the first place. Thanks for the education and the insight into milking cows. It seems like so much hard work, so well done you for getting it done.

All of that work twice a day just so I can have some milk in my morning coffee, thank you. My feet would be killing me walking around in those boots in the wet sludge and crap.

Hard work running a dairy farm. A cousin of my mother’s (died young of cancer) was a dairy farmer (inherited from his Dad) and he always told me that dairy farming was the hardest of all types of farming because it’s twice a day, every day of the year. I salute you for your care
@RancheroTierra
@RancheroTierra Ай бұрын
Yes, dairy farming is the most hard work in any type of farming. 2x a day, 7 days a week, all year around. It's not only milking, if they see a problem on a cow, they need to get that checked out too. When cows are very close to calving, they need to keep a eye on them. The baby calves need to be fed twice a day. All the cows needs to be fed 2x a day, inclusief the dry cows and the young stock. Milk cows, dry cows and young stock, they all get different types of feed, and that needs to be made too. They have to keep track on the milk cows that need to be dried up a few month before calving, they need to be taken out of the herd. When cows calved, they need to go back into the herd, and that could give for heifers some times more work, because it will be the first time that she calved and get into the milking parlor. Treated cows they need to be milked separately, or the milk gets taken out if they are still in the herd. Inseminate cows when their ready for pregnancy. From time to time, hoof trim the cows, as well the bedding in the free stalls, keep cows dry and clean. Then all the work around it, just like fixing or making things to get the job easier done, especially during the winter time, by real cold weather, many things are going slower. It's very hard for a dairy farmer to go on holiday, unless they have a family that knows how to run their dairy farm. I have lots of respect for these farmers.

Great video, very informative! What do you like about that one cow? I was actually curious if you know them individually or if certain ones stand out or have a unique personality. They seemed so calm and like they knew what to do when they entered the milking area. 🐄 👍 🥛

May I suggest that you explain what you are doing? For example, While you were doing the prep for milking tell us the steps you are taking. I grew up on a farm and have knowledge but not everyone else does. Also it is better than “”dead air”. Or at least play some music. How long does it take to milk 190 cows?
