I go to McGill and could not agree more! Thanks for posting this. It's such an accurate representation of what McGill is REALLY like. It's so hard to find real testimonies like this online that really paint a realistic picture of McGill for you before you actually go there. Hope this helps people.

@@janhumski2352 yeah that one surprised me too. I've never heard/seen anything like that either. I know that you can have office hours to discuss your grade with a prof, but usually it's pretty hard to get them to change much. The only case i know of with someone going from a C to an A was a grading mistake that had nothing to do with negotiation. The wine thing is super unprofessional and I havn't seen anything like that either. Everything else in the video seems pretty spot on though.

Library environment is the best to do your work. Also if you are doing research and want to spend the day on just thinking about one research problem, there are amazing cafes around the city where you can go and get a coffee and chill with some jazz music that's playing in the background. I never heard of bribes or changing a grade without a valid reason .. I think in Science faculty, freshman year is the easiest and the one you will enjoy the most. It will only get harder after as the content becomes harder. Also for computer science degrees Mcgill is known to be theory based and that is true. They do not make group projects a big part of classes (I wrote so many proofs and so few actual code in 5 years)

I have a question, I am a 1st-year student here in the Philippines. Since I've discovered the "University of the People", an online class for people worldwide. I enrolled in an associate degree since they said that this online study can be taken even if I'm studying here at our country. However, I've received an email regarding the partner schools of UoPeople, and one of those is the McGill University and a chance to be admitted at this University. After watching your vlog, it concerns me that I can't do well in this university. And if given the chance to study at McGill, I think I will finish my degree here first for 4 years, and then hopefully pass the board exam, and get a 2 years work experience. So probably if I'm still alive, I'll be 26 when I continue my Computer Science associate degree there. May I ask what are your thoughts regarding my situation? It is my dream to live at canada and study there, but our situation doens't allow me. The only chance I could get is through University of the People's partnership but I need to work and save and all for every preparation. Is it still possible? Or an illusion?
