Isn’t Cosmos the only booklet without any sort of Kaiju guide? Tiga, Dyna, & Gaia at least had pictures of the Kaiju in the episode guide (which I assume they didn’t do with Nexus because most of those Kaiju appear across multiple episodes and there were few enough that they could all fit on a single page)

The Ultraman and 80s booklets don’t have a Kaiju section but the Kaiju appear in the episode thumbnails. Other than that, there’s a section for notable Kaiju or images next to episode descriptions in all the booklets

For Ultraman Zero Chronicle, I actually switched the cases for Zero Chronicle and surprisingly My Hero Academia Season 1 Blu-ray/DVD and yes despite the fact that Season 1 has four (5 if you include the bonus blu-ray) disks, it's actually 2 for the whole season on both formats and I could honestly care less about the DVDS, so now Zero Chronicle has a space for each disk and I just flipped the Bonus blu-ray disk for MHA over

I agree, I hope a new contract is made so we can see Ultraman Taiga to Decker, hopefully we also Ultra Galaxy Fight series as well because I love those and it's full of so many characters especially the 2nd installment Absolute Conspiracy which brought back either not looked upon fondly Ultras or niche Ultras

Well it's great to hear that the video quality of these releases is pretty good (for the most part) , however I do have to ask: How is the subtitle quality for Cosmos? I've seen people mention that Nexus just recycles the Crunchyroll subs which is fine, but it would definitely give me pause if the sub tracks for Cosmos were the Toku HD or, even worse, HK subs. I am by no means fluent in Japanese, but the grammatical errors present throughout Toku HD subtitles really do stick out like a sore thumb, and that's just with the "good" subtitled series.

I'm near the end of the first Cosmos disc, and the subtitles are quite good. They're on par with what has come before, which means there's the occasional typo, but nothing that prevents you from understanding the dialogue.

TokuHD has really bad reputation that it honestly deserves but there a couple shows that have decent/good subs and Cosmos is decent so no worries.

As someone who grew up watching Cosmos with the _godawful_ Thai dub, I'll be glad to own a release that doesn't make me feel like I'm having an aneurysm while watching it. Update: Went and watched the first disc of Cosmos. The subtitles _actually_ mis-gendered one of the monsters, like the HK subs. 🤦‍♂

Great detailed video always enjoy your videos. I will say I've heard others sing high praise for Nexus I just couldn't get into it way to different for me I like the more traditional show. It was weird taking several episodes to defeat one Kaiju and just a very different style. I might give it another try but it's cool that there is so much Ultraman to choose from. Also not sure if you heard Mill Creek is releasing another one in February called Battle Kaiju Series Ultraman vs Red King it is all the various Red King episodes from the different series not sure if they will do more of these.

That’s understandable! I love Nexus because its different, but its very very different from the traditional Ultraman series (which is why it didn’t do as well) I heard about the Battle Kaiju Series release. Its listed at being 16 episodes, 1 blu ray disc and the only way for them to include enough episodes would to include the non-HD series as well so Im curious to see how that turns out

Since the initial contract is almost over, I was hoping that they might do "remasters" of their previous releases if Tsuburaya will allow them too. Like, have some of them be available on SDBD for starters, especially the Showa ones. The Ultraman needs better subtitles from what I heard. Also, huh. Now it makes sense why Zearth never got a Blu-ray release. The source Tsuburaya gave them doesn't merit a BD release.

Getting my Nexus set the 21st of April, fingers crossed its not scratched at least too badly in shipping here to Denmark, had some bad experiences with both Times i tried to get Super robot red baron, started freezing on the exact same episode in both cases, had the same scratches too so maybe it was a factory error, my tiga set has some scratches too but it plays fine and so does my old dvd set of the original show so who knows maybe the ultra shows are just more durable or maybe it's just higher quality discs on these newer releases, anyways fingers crossed

@@Soundout12 if i may, the discs in your set, do the fourth and fifth disc when seen under a light such as a lamp or sunlight seem to have very small spot like scratches on them?, There might be something strange that i cant quite describe about the surface of the Fourth disc

@@simonhassnilsson7009 That happens due to the cases themselves having the ability for the discs to rotate. It shouldn’t affect playback as they’re not deep enough but it does happen

I got all the recent releases as well. I am intrigued at the news of the Amazon listing for the "Battle Kaiju Series #1 Ultraman vs Red King" Blu Ray from MC scheduled for 2/21/23 release. It claims to contain every Red King episode from every Ultra Series ever, which of course would be interesting because some series like Powered, Taiga, and Trigger haven't been released yet. The run time of 7 hours and 5 mins breaks down to 17 episodes, which would include every episode with Red King from all the series in MC previous deal with TPC, but it also states this set is only 1 BRD ( it's probably 2). But could that mean we get some episodes in HD from series previously only released on DVD? Needles to say more details will be coming, but I am interested in certain aspects of this release even if it is a collection based on already released content.

@@Soundout12 I was so upset that Take Me Higher theme was removed in almost every episode. When I heard that, it convinced me to get the Funimation ones. Volume 3 is really expensive. I ended up paying $150 for it but it was worth the penny.

I started watching cosmos without watching the movie since I didn’t know since that the movie is on the disc with the other films so yeah. Should of put it on its own disc like they did with the 8 brothers movie

As far as I can tell from what I’ve researched, Heisei Ultraseven wasn’t available to Mill Creek when they made their first deal so maybe when they renew the contract, they’ll get it

Man sucks about Zearth. Holding out hope that it will look better on streaming whenever it hits Tubi and other places. It's a shame too as the Japanese blu-ray for Zearth looked nice imo or at the least better than this.
