Good morning Ms. Wanda. I've been milling my own flour since April of this year. My mill is a KoMo Mio stone grinder, but works on the same premise as yours. I've been buying my grain (wheat and oats) organic from Azure and found it very good. My mill instructions say to get the finest flour turn on mill, tighten down the stones until you hear them just touching pour in your grain and then you can tighten down one more click. Loosen as soon as the grain has finished going through the mill to open the stones. I make all our bread and bakery products now. I don't sift because that removes the beneficial bran and some nutrients from the flour. You are right, the flavor of freshly ground grain is so good. My grown son and grandson doesn't like eating store bought baked goods anymore and it's so good for you.

Can you share a link to a recipe for these breads you make??? I am struggling with making Whole Wheat Bread as it seems so dense and the taste isn't what I thought it should be. Thanks for any help you can share for any of us who are interested in doing this too. I already own a mill like Miss Wandas, so that part is already covered.

Awwww I’m glad you got a mill! I began milling a year ago. I did a podcast with Sue Becker from Bread Becker’s on KZbin about how it has affected mom and I both… it’s episode #133 I believe if you get a chance to listen while you’re working around Pecan Grove. I’m so excited for you! Even Mr Danny may be able to tolerate some of the ancient grains like Einkorn, Spelt , Barker or Kamut. 💚

When I learned the benefits of fresh milled flour, I went ALL IN. I have buckets of wheat berries and grind my flour for all my baked goods (and homemade pasta!). It’s so wonderful to enjoy bread knowing it has 40 of the 44 nutrients we need plus amazing fiber. My mitochondria thanks me!

I too own a Nutra Mill and when I try to use my flour that I mill, we don't like the taste. Could it be because I am just not used to it, or... what? Can you offer any help or recipes for baking bread with this freshly milled flour? Thank you for any help you offer.

Many years ago (when i went with my family to an elderly couples farm) the lady told me about the thorny locust trees -- they had some way down in a field edge -- said that the long pods they produce held "beans" that the native Indians would take the beans & dry them & crush/grind them for flour for bread cakes. The long thorns the Indians would use for needles & weapon tips (they were very sharp).

Good morning Miss Wanda😊 I got the same mill for Christmas last year. I LOVE it! I did find with the wheat is that it cooks different than store wheat. Especially my BP bisquits. They were coming out crumbly. So I either mixed them the night before or use hot water. I have not done beans yet, but am going to try. I want to make my own bean chips.

Beans as flour. It seems recipes that call for cooked/ blender beans taste better than " raw bean flour" because the raw has a very strong " bean" flavor. But cooked beans, are a bit milder. Lentils were a good start.

That's the same mill I have. I measure by weight when I process my own grains. I really like this type of mill because it's low profile and I can keep it on the counter.

I am SO GLAD to see that you are consuming FRESHLY-MILLED grains! Once we found out that 90% of the nutrition is gone 48 hours after milling (leaving it dead and inflammatory), and hearing about so many miraculous health benefits, we bought a mill and wheat berries- and it cured the severe eczema that my daughter fought for four years!! We are believers! It's no wonder that Jesus referred to himself as the bread of life :)

Did she have eczema from celiac? I’m asking because I’ve started having it at 58 and dr says it’s celiac. What kind of flour do you make for her? What kind of mill do you have? Thank you for posting your comment. It gives me hope because these blisters are terrible.

@@apiecemaker1163 If you watch on KZbin Sue Becker's Real Bread Staff of Life you will get blown away and encouraged to try it- even for those who have been diagnosed with celiac. My daughter is not celiac and has been very healthy, but there is nutrition that is only found in "real bread" (unless you're buying a variety of specific high quality supplements) that we are now consuming and it's been the missing factor- the Bible even says "Give us now our daily bread"... I typically buy hard white wheat berries because they're good for making loaves and even work for quick breads, but any type of wheat will do- it's all good! I personally have a Mockmill 100 and I love it! My sister has the same model and she uses it everyday for the last four years. I also have a friend that used a blender before she bought a mill, and as long as she blended at least 2.5 cups at a time to weigh the berries down, she got flour :)

OF COURSE freshly milled flour of any kind is going to taste - and be - better than anything that has sat on a shelf. The nutritional value starts to drop IMMEDIATELY when the grain is milled and over 90% of the nutrients are oxidized and gone in 48 hours. This applies to all seeds, whether they are grains, beans, or whatever. Whole seeds can also potentially be used for planting.

That’s a nice grinder. I opted for the country mill grinder because in the off chance of disaster or EMP or CME etc. I’ll still be able to grind whole grain and make bread in a Dutch oven with Wood. but it’s very tempting while we have power still to get the harvest meal because it’s convenient and speed the country mill takes a while to grind wheat

Hi Wanda thanks for sharing Harvest Mill and doing comparison with the Azure oatmeal and flour. The mill actually made it pretty fine. Azure has some great organic products for certain. Danny's liking that biscuit and bet there are more of those to come soon 😀

Some prices on Azure, like the oats, are reasonable, but once you add the 8.5% delivery fee and the 3.5% fee for using a credit card, the savings are gone. That's what keeps me from ordering. Plus, the drop-off location is not very convenient for us.

When the stones are set to tight the warm up and cause a slick hard glaze to cover the stones and you have to take the stones out and clean them back to their original surface.

I had a wisper mill. It was plastic w/steel grinders. It cost about the same. I like this mill better because I can get it almost course enough for cracked wheat
