No one likes market risk, but without longer retirement, taking on risk is often a necessary evil to compensate for inflation

My wife is willing to work for another 5 years if needed. Are we in good shape? Will we be okay if I begin withdrawing from Social Security when I'm 41 and my wife is 40? Should we hire a financial planner to help us navigate this?
@HsgsvgGzvsgsКүн бұрын
These are crucial questions for a financial planner. I met mine at a NYSE summit, and with her help, my wife and I reallocated our $1.7M portfolio between a traditional IRA and a brokerage account. She's been making investments with our approval and has helped us recover twice our losses. We're holding steady and carefully navigating more markets

Mr hobby hardwood, i need to get me a sawmill, my Stihl ms881 is not that appreciated in my neighborhood anymore and i cant understand why? Thinking about to get an electric mill, like a LT15 or a cheaper model, lx50. Do you have any recommendations about my possible upgrade,....merry christmas and best regards from Sweden🌲
@HobbyHardwoodAlabama7 сағат бұрын
Hello Sweden! The electric mills are quieter and very effective. I had an LT15, and it was the most accurate mill I owned. Merry Christmas.

Well now you have done it . . . Cost me $85,000! Thanks a lot. LOL! Just kidding. Actually, I am serious about the thank you. You convinced me to skip the LT50. I just put our deposit down for the LT70Super. We mill and kiln dry as a service. We are doing pretty well with our LT40Wide and 3 kilns, but we just landed a number of large jobs in the past 2 months and there is no way our 40 can keep up. Merry Christmas to you and the family!
@HobbyHardwoodAlabama6 сағат бұрын
That's great! It's stupid fast compared to LT40, but has lots of moving parts, and like most things, takes a little "learning" and stuff. Make sure you go to WM and do a full run through and check, with logs, before you take delivery and make sure it's perfect before to shows up at your place.

Well this might have been inspiring to some it didn't tell us anything. I've had a wood mizer mill for two years and can't give lumber away
@HobbyHardwoodAlabama6 сағат бұрын
Actually, it told you all you need to know about how to make a successful sawmill business. However, it sounds like you may benefit from watching a bunch of my other videos on how to saw up high grade lumber, from getting logs, to understanding grade, to reading stress, minimizing defects, increasing production and all that stuff that went into us being ranked the highest grade lumber producer in the state for several years running, and his we sell to people all over the country. if you can't give your lumber away, there is something wrong, somewhere. I will help if I can. Merry Christmas!
@ChadMoore-v1h5 сағат бұрын
@HobbyHardwoodAlabama actually the problem is our local government in calhoun ga. The codes are so strict you cant use your milled lumber for anything. Not even a dog house or a wood shed. Our county board has given itself so much power over the public it's insane. We have been trying to roll back there control but its been an uphill struggle. Most of my trees are pine but there the best I've seen. Average 30 inch on the stump and about 60 feet to the first limb. I consistently make 2x12x12 with straight grain and no knots. But as I said with no market because of county rules what's the point. And Marry Christmas to you and yours as well
