My sister, a Pharmacist for Wallgreens, saw her hours cut from 40 hrs to 24 hrs per week. She has to find other pharmacists who need to take a day off for appointments to make up the difference. However, those Pharmacist had their hours cut too and are hesitant to take any time off.

Walgreens wanted a pharmacy on every corner and when the government lowered the reimbursement on prescriptions to about $3 per RX they were not making money and had to cut staff. So stores would have 1 pharmacist and 1 person in the front and maybe a technician. No with all the stealing they were losing money. It’s better to have fewer stores that are better staffed. They had a bad business model.

I worked in Rodmans pharmacy in Friendship Heits Washington DC for over a year. If you don't have 40 hours or more you're not qualified of getting insurance. They do it purpose to cut hours, then you are officially part time and no insurance. Welcome to capitalism 50 % of Americans end up in bankruptcy do to medical bills.
