@@RobertMoore-pt9ep The lesson did not take long but had the biggest impact on what Brendon has desperately wanted to achieve a correct and natural way of getting forward lean on the shaft at impact what he calls lag tension. Brendon has been contriving and doing his best to manufacture impact and Milo has shown him it is a byproduct of doing the right things and the right things are quite simple when shown how. He is onto something here and needs to reinforce it and make it a habit and do what Milo advocates when learning something new, do it over and over SLOWLY to build it in. This is something he does not do he flitters around like a butterfly going from one fad to the next in hope of finding the magic trick that will put it all together. That is destined to fail , he needs to learn how to dig in and practice and build in the right habits so they get in the body and he has been shown the right habit here he needs to cultivate, he needs to talk to Milo about how to structure a training program to get what he has just learned in his body so it is habit before moving on. In practical terms the 2 guys he needs to stick with and go through the training are Milo and Tim Yelverton with the putting and short game and just practice over and over the principles they teach bit by bit so the changes are in him.

Just do this for 3 months. Honestly this is the best way to get this "feeling". See how your first attempt just focused on moving the arms only? Then Milo had to "force" you to move the body? This is basically all of us amateurs (regardless of skill level and experience, other than those that did some serious college golf & stayed AMs), we just cant trust that we aren't going to completely "lose" the arms when we start working on more rotation and have the ball fly dead right -- nice job!

It finally looks like a golf swing!!! One thing I'm having a hard time distinguishing is the fact that the driver feels like it has to be different? Does the driver require a little more throw. Obviously this compression and holding make perfect sense with a wedge or a Niner but does it change as you get into longer clubs?
@ReSourceEnergetics3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brendan, the best thing that I see here is your first move is a loading of the left leg, then a push back loading of your right leg. This gets your rhythm going so that your weight transfer is earlier and better, which causes you to be able to flush it in that hold off (I like prerelease position better). I think hold off creates a lack of flow, where prerelease is just a position on the way to a finish. I am taking about ~7:30 in this video. That load to target before the backswing is killer... and of course Milo is the man... looks great. Alan

every mid handicapper like me should do this drill. It’s the only way to overcome a flip/early release because it’s the extreme opposite of a fault that in my swing is also an extreme. When I do a full swing I try to feel I’m holding it off the whole swing. When I watch a video of me doing that the club actually releases properly with a finish a bit like Tommy Fleetwood I compress the ball and it never goes left. I do this drill and nothing else twice a week for 250 balls and 6 weeks in I am enjoying ball striking and accuracy that I have never know before. Thank you Milo.

For me, the no-throw swing concept made more sense the second you pointed out that the club won't reach the ball if your hips extend (you stand up) in the downswing. I was taught to play back in the '80's back when your power source was extend and throw. The problem is you've got to play and practice an awful lot to time this type of move and it STILL fails when the heat is on. I've lost tournaments standing on 18 tee at -1 and flash one OB ... tournament lost! You might get through 18 holes under par with extend and throw but good luck with 36 hole + tournaments. Guys have done it obviously but it's difficult.

To some people this might not look so impressive but when you fight a flip, and poor impact position that’s on your trail leg for YEARS , this is amazing breakthroughs here. I can get my desired impact by doing small swings and feeling like I’m holding off the release forever, but I never know when it’s ok to release the club. So is it okay to just feel like I hold off the release forever until my arms anatomically want to release from the centripetal forces? I’m still a bit confused on how to incorporate this into a full 100% swing.

What do the arms feel like in trying to synchronize the matchup with the chest parallel? Are the arms passive, or how much active? What do you emphasize to get to those parallel positions? Is it more body and rotational in emphasis? What should the arms be doing?
@stevenolmstead3 жыл бұрын
Good stuff. Seems to highlight two schools of thought regarding the golf swing. The "rotating the body" vs a more "arms swing " My question is which is best for the older - less athletic golfer? When watching rotating the body videos you rarely see a golfer >50 showcased. My experience (being in that category) is this method is difficult - and hard on the body. Maybe for younger more flexible golfers - like you and Milo - this method is doable. But for the rest of us who are watching, I am not so sure.

@@MiloLinesGolf I’m 67 and I’d say the difference is psychological because the hands release feels more powerful and satisfies the need to “hit” the golf ball which I’ve done most of my golfing life.. The body release is a completely different strike in fact it doesn’t feel like a “hit” at all. I was astonished how far the ball went when I did the half swing drill because the club just released it self in fact even now it still feels like I’m holding the club off the whole swing but on video it’s releasing with shaft lean. I’m reasonably fit but making this work had nothing to do with my flexibility it was about replacing an old subconscious move with a new one. I did this drill twice weekly and nothing else for 3 months, still do it now. Working on it! Got any good ideas for me?

@@MiloLinesGolf the Lines line of visual aides used in golf. Come up with something that has to do with lines in a package that helps the golfer set up or swing properly. Tons of combinations. Draw lines on a tool that assists the average golfer how to set up to different shots for example. Lines are the theme here where your name mimics the products. Lines lines etc. Milo’s Lines will line you up to better golf! Anyways, that’s all I’ve got. lol You have to come up with something unique in this regard. Something that will help the average golfer find a better approach to their swing.

So, the swing should be a body/chest turn. Not an arm swing.

Whatever u can hit the ball better with. Hall of fame has both styles. Tiger has said either one depending on the time of his career. Try it and see if it benefits u

Always mentioning Milo's height. Who cares. Xander Schauffle is quite a hitter. Height is overrated.

Yet nobody on tour does this or needs too.

I teach multiple tour players and they all do this drill often. It’s an exaggeration of what will happen under speed but for the player that stall flips its a great impact feel

Why do golf coaches need to be patronizing and condescending “That’s the idea!” Like everyone’s a idiot except them. Most professionals people golf and are sometimes infinitely smarter than a golf pro.

Sorry but that hat you are wearing looks really silly.
